Addis Ababa - Explosions rocked the Ethiopian capital on Monday killing at least two people and wounding several others, witnesses said.
The blasts took place at two separate petrol stations in Addis Ababa, wounding about 20 people, they said.
"One person died on the spot when a bomb exploded around 19:00 at the NOC gas station," said a witness in Addis Ababa's Megenagnia district.
A second person was killed after another blast went off at separate branch of the NOC, which was owned by Saudi Arabian-Ethiopian billionaire Sheikh Alamoudi.
"One person was killed and there were some 12 people injured," a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
The officer added that several suspects were arrested.
The government routinely accused the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) and Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) rebel movements as well as arch-foe Eritrea for such attacks that had occurred in the past.
