African woman wins peace prize

Nairobi - Kenyan environmentalist and government minister Wangari Maathai has won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Ms Maathai said she had been informed by Norway's ambassador to Kenya.
"I have been called by the Norwegian ambassador to inform me that I have won the Nobel award," Maathai, 64, a veteran environmentalist, said in Nairobi.
Norwegian news agency NTB confirmed in a report that Maathai had won the coveted prize.
