Paris - France has chartered several aircraft to evacuate French nationals who wish to leave Ivory Coast and bring in supplies to those who need them, the foreign ministry said in Paris on Tuesday.
"Planes chartered by the ministry will leave in the coming hours with the primary aim of bringing in supplies to people who are in need as a result of difficulties on the ground," said spokesperson Herve Ladsous.
"In addition, those of our nationals who wish to - notably persons in distress, young children or the sick - will be able to leave Abidjan," he said.
