Cairo - Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit and intelligence chief Omar Suleiman have cancelled their planned visit to Israel on November 24, officials said on Saturday.
They had been due to visit to discuss the Jewish state's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip next year.
Three Egyptian policemen mistaken for Palestinian militants were killed by an Israeli tank shell on Wednesday night on the border with the Gaza Strip.
Israel immediately apologised over the incident but Egypt lodged a formal protest and has demanded an enquiry.
