Israeli drug dealer gets life

Cairo, Egypt - An Egyptian court on Sunday sentenced an Israeli man to life imprisonment for selling drugs at a Red Sea resort, police officials said.
Mahmoud Mehegan, 45, was arrested in April 2003 when he sold hashish to undercover police agents in the resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
A life sentence in Egypt usually means 25 years behind bars, although prisoners can be released earlier for good behavior.
Egypt's drug laws are strict and smugglers who bring drugs into the country may be condemned to death.
