Lagos - Ten people drowned and six were rescued after their boat capsized in southern Nigeria's oil hub Port Harcourt, police said on Friday.
"The accident happened on Wednesday night around Agip waterfront in Port Harcourt. Ten people drowned while six were rescued," state police spokesperson Rita Abbey said.
She said the cause of the accident had yet to be determined.
Last month, some 30 people drowned after a boat carrying a bride and members of her family capsized in the northern state of Kano.
