Johannesburg - Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki has appealed for food aid as many parts of Kenya are experiencing food shortages because of inadequate rainfall, the United Nations (UN) Integrated Regional Information Networks reported on Thursday.
Kibaki did not say how much food would be needed. The UN World Food Programme last month estimated that between 85 000 tons and 90 000 tons would be required to feed an estimated 1.4 million people for six months beginning in August.
