Obasanjo: Unite against terror

Abuja - Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo called on Tuesday for a global and united front against terrorism.
He said terrorism had become a threat to global security and must be contained immediately.
Expressing shock at the loss of more than 360 lives during the hostage crisis in Beslan, southern Russia, Obasanjo conveyed his condolences to President Vladimir Putin.
"This heinous and barbaric act underscores the need for a global and united front in tackling the issue of terrorism," he stressed.
He affirmed Nigeria's opposition to terrorism for achieving political ends and expressed solidarity and support of the Russian people.
Obasanjo also expressed the hope that the perpetrators would be found and brought to justice. - Sapa-dpa
