Djibouti - The flood death toll in Djibouti's capital rose to 50 people, many of them women and children who drowned when a river burst its banks, damaging an unknown value of property.
Life in the capital Djibouti, which is known by the same name as the country, slowly returned back to normal on Wednesday, the official Djibouti News Agency reported.
The flooding, which occurred on Tuesday following heavy rains that swelled the Ambouli River, left at least 400 people homeless.
The army, police, gendarmerie and French and US soldiers stationed in Djibouti co-ordinated the rescue of survivors, the agency reported.
