Kabul - Three people involved in the kidnapping of children destined for the
international organ trade have been arrested in the Afghan capital,
a report said on Sunday.
"Two women and a man were stopped by the police force after
having kidnapped a group of children in Kabul. They snatched the
children to sell their bodies," the Bakhtar news service said,
quoting police sources.
Police said they had found kitchen knives, a gun and an axe in
the house of another alleged kidnapper who escaped the raid.
Investigators made the arrests after being tipped off by a
12-year-old boy who managed to escape from the gang.
After being kidnapped the children would be taken on to various
neighbouring countries, the police source was quoted as
saying. - Sapa-AFP
