Gas blast kills 14 in Algeria

Algiers - Fourteen people were killed and 28 injured on Sunday by a gas explosion in the Algerian town of Guelma, 530km east of the capital, a local government official said in a broadcast statement.

He said an apartment building was destroyed in the blast, leaving 24 families homeless.
