Johannesburg - Two flights from Johannesburg International Airport to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been cancelled for security reasons, said SA Airways on Friday.
Flight SA050 due to depart at 08:45 on Sunday and Tuesday have been cancelled.
"The situation will be monitored at the weekend and reviewed on Monday," said SAA spokesperson Onkgopotse Tabane.
"If the situation allows it, Tuesday's flight will be reinstated. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
On Wednesday, countrywide protests broke out against the failure of United Nations peacekeepers to intervene to prevent the capture by rebel soldiers of Bukavu.
At least three people were shot dead as they looted a United Nations warehouse in Kinshasa during the demonstrations.
