Nairobi - The parties of Kenya's feuding leaders on Friday agreed a joint roadmap to end the turmoil that has wracked the country since last month's disputed elections, said former UN chief Kofi Annan.
"We have agreed an agenda covering both short-term issues and also long-term issues," Annan said in Nairobi, after talks with representatives of President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Annan, who has been in Kenya for more than a week, said the first priority of the four-point agenda was "to take immediate action to stop the violence and restore fundamental rights and liberties".
"The second is immediate measures to address the humanitarian crisis, the third is how to overcome the current political crisis."
He said the first three points were to be resolved within between seven and 15 days of the start of dialogue on January 28.
The fourth point of the document witnessed by Annan and signed by representatives of both sides would be long-term solutions, he added.
