Nairobi - Hundreds of Somalis have escaped across the border into Kenya following fighting over the weekend in which at least six people were killed, the BBC reported on Sunday.
Fighting broke out late on Saturday between two clans in the small town of Bulahawa near the border where Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia meet, the report said.
In the fighting, which was over the control of the town and lasted until early on Sunday, at least six people were killed and several were injured.
The refugees, many of them women and children, escaped to Mandera town, which is located 20 kilometres away on the Kenyan side of the border.
Both groups are part of the Mareehan clan, to which the late Somali dictator Siad Barre belonged.
