Maputo - Mozambique is out of danger of being hit by the tropical cyclone Fame after its pressure deceased and it moved towards central Madagascar, say reports.
The daily Noticias said in a report quoting the national meteorological services (INAM) that pressure on the storm, which developed into a tropical cyclone, had decreased.
However, INAM said there was still danger for maritime navigation along the Mozambican channel as strong winds could affect sea traffic.
The weather service appealed for caution on the part of sea travellers and promised to provide constant updates on the development of the phenomenon.
On Sunday weather authorities said cyclone Fame was threatening to worsen the flooding in the country, which had claimed several lives and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands.
INAM said Cyclone Fame had increased in speed to 400km/h. Forecasters expected the storm to miss the Mozambican coast but even without a direct hit, the cyclone could bring more rain.
