Pretoria - Not everybody is lucky enough to rub shoulders with Hollywood's celebrities and to be there when Charlize Theron and Tsotsi possibly receive an Oscar.
But Willie Louw, a hair stylist from Pretoria, has already packed his bags for a visit to Los Angeles, where the Oscars are presented. He will also be a VIP guest of Hollywood couple Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins at an official Oscar party.
All this forms part of a prize Louw won in an MTN competition held at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg in January. The prize includes a business class return ticket for himself and a girlfriend, five days accommodation in a luxury hotel, and a few thousand rand pocket money.
Louw said the prize is just up his alley, since he has been working with celebrities like Brumilda van Rensburg, former Miss SA Suzette van der Merwe, and Mr and Mrs South Africa all his life.
His dream is to say hello to Theron in Afrikaans, and to yell in this language when Tsotsi gets an award for best foreign movie.
He and his partner will travel in a private limosine, and dine at Robert DeNiro's popular Ivy restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles, where famous stars like Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Keanu Reeves have to book months in advance.
Then follows the official Oscar party presented by Amnesty International with Sarandon and Robbins, a visit to Ozzy Osborne and the homes of other famous people and an extensive tour of Universal Studios where Hollywood's biggest movies are filmed.
