Cape Town - Viewers will be able to watch live TV coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial service on Tuesday at 19:00.
The local eNews Channel (DStv channel 403) will broadcast the memorial service live, and will also show specially prepared clips about Jackson during the course of the broadcast.
E! Entertainment (DStv channel 124) will replace the European channel feed, which is usually shown in South Africa, with the live US coverage of the service.
The streets and grounds surrounding the Staples Centre, where the memorial service will be held, have been cordoned off by the Los Angeles police, and only people with valid tickets will be allowed entry.
Only 17 500 ticket holders will be allowed to enter the arena.
The uninterrupted memorial service will be broadcast on www.eonline.com.
CNN International (DStv channel 401) will also broadcast the service from 19:00.
Channel O (DStv channel 320) and MK (DStv channel 324) have also hopped on the Michael Jackson memorial bandwagon. Both channels confirmed on Tuesday morning that they have secured the rights to simultaneously broadcast the late King of Pop's public memorial service on Tuesday evening, starting their coverage at 18:45.
SABC1 confirmed at 13:30 on Tuesday afternoon that the public broadcaster's biggest TV channel has scrambled to secure the rights as well. The memorial will be broadcast on SABC1 from 21:00 in what is know as a ''delayed live'' transmission.
