Minki's new love

Cape Town - First it was cricket captain Graeme Smith, then singer Pieter Smith... but, now glamour girl and model Minki van der Westhuizen has found a new man - one not used to the limelight at all.

Described as shy and a bit withdrawn, Constant Visser is a businessman from Stellenbosch. When asked by Rapport about the relationship, he did not want to say more than "Yes, we are very happy together".

He is the brother-in-law of Ferdinand Rabie (of Big Brother fame) who is married to Visser's sister, Colene.

Ferdi said the two were very much in love.

Minki publicly confirmed the relationship for the first time last week.

Rumours about a relationship between Minkie and Visser surfaced shortly after her relationship with Pieter Smith ended.

Minki earlier told a newspaper that she and Visser had been friends for two years and only recently took the friendship a step further.

Learning to dance

"If you are friends with a guy, it makes the relationship later easier, as the parties understand each other. That is what happened to us," she said.

The two were seen in Vredendal at the weekend at the Rittelfees, where they apparently paid each other much attention.

Ferdi was impressed with the new turn of events, saying his brother-in-law was learning to dance and even listened to Steve Hofmeyr's music.

Visser said to Rapport that they wanted to keep their relationship private.

Minki did not want to talk about it either.

Ferdie said: "Constant is a deep guy. He does not do the social scene. But, nowadays, he seems to have perked up a bit."
