As a gay guy myself & absolutely loving Adam Lambert as a singer/performer on Idols, I am shocked at his performance as it puts gay people in a negative light. I think he's going too far too quick & if he carries on like this he's career will come crashing down before it even starts. Straight people do not want to be shocked by a gay man on stage & I just want to add that not all gay men are as over the top or shocking in their behaviour as Adam & I want to ask straight people to keep that in mind. Most of "us" are decent people just trying to survive in a mostly homophobic society.

Fortunately most people have a life outside of their sexual orientation and I would guess are sick and tired of having sex shoved down our throats every time you watch TV. Straight or bent.

It took me over 2000 years to break down man's moral standards. I must admit, TV was my best tool to advertise Guy pride. Next I'm going to fool man by making him believe incest is socially acceptable. Older men are going for younger girls all the time....:)

I always thought Adam was an unique entertainer. I have gay family members and friends. I love them all dearly. They have proven to be steadfast, honest, loving and remain with you through thick and thin. And yes, not all of them are over the top. So I for one will not generalize that gay people are over the top or enjoy shocking society. :-)

I watched his AMA performance on Youtube just now. I am a fan of his. Not sure what I think about it. I don't have kids. Gut reaction was ...'eeew, don't spoil it', coz I'm straight. I have seen other footage of him strutting his stuff using a pink fluffy whip thing which was rather funny - I could deal with that. I really want his album but now have mixed feelings about it all. His eccentricities make him fascinating.... now the question is, 'do I still want to support him'? Love his music, don't hate the man, just want him to tone it down.

People need to stop stereotyping. Why, because he's gay, will it make all gay people look bad? We shouldn't be worrying about the opinions of people who lack the intelligence to understand that simple fact in the first place.

To be honest, I think some of the rap rubbish performed at the AMA's were far more of a sin than his performance was.

I like to believe (and hope?) that straight people know enough to realise that not all gay people are that "out there" just as not all straight people are slappers. We are all just normal people and some are OTT and some are not - regardless of their sexual orientation. I understand your concerns as people are already so quick to condemn gays. As a straight 45yr woman i enjoyed his song and was not offended at all. live and let live i say. Good luck to you Paul and i hope this new S.A is more open and tolerant towards you.

Madonna simulates sex on every music video and nobody bats an eyelid. If you don't like watching, switch off the tv and listen to the cd. It is about the music after all.

It's about time we saw some man2man action on stage!! Straight and girl-on-girl action seems to be more acceptable than guy-on-guy action!! We should not be hypocrites and should accept all sorts. Really wish people would get over themselves... Welcome to the real world people. Entertainers entertain. If it's offending you then don't watch. Nobody got hurt. It's time for you moaners to grow up a bit and stop complaining about every petty little thing that they come across. There really are a lot more important things to be concerned about than Adam Lambert kissing a boy on television.
