Los Angeles - Sopranos star James Gandolfini is expected to withdraw his lawsuit against US cable network HBO.
Producers are hopeful the actor will dismiss his case that sought to release him from his contract in order to get a bigger pay deal.
According to reports, HBO is also due to withdraw its counter-action if they reach an agreement over the future of the hit drama.
Gandolfini originally filed a complaint against HBO to try and free himself from having to appear in a fifth series of hit mafia series The Sopranos.
He says the network missed a deadline for advising him he would be needed for the new season which is due to begin filming on March 24.
But HBO's lawyer Bert Fields said his understanding was that Gandolfini's lawsuit was to be withdrawn imminently, which "is going to help clear the air and make quite a different feeling on the part of HBO".
It is not known whether the network will give in to Gandofini's demands for more money, reports BBC News. - Ananova.com
