Led Zeppelin to rule the world

2007-11-23 14:45

Los Angeles - Led Zeppelin are set to embark on a world tour in 2008.

The legendary rock band are seemingly ready to follow their comeback performance at London's O2 arena on December 10 with a series of concerts across the globe next year.

News of the proposed tour was leaked by Ian Astbury, lead singer of band The Cult.

He told fans at a concert in Cincinnati on Saturday: "We'll be back next year. We're opening for a band you may have heard of. The name starts with an 'L', and has a 'Z' in it."

When asked by an excited member of the crowd if he meant Led Zeppelin, Astbury reportedly nodded his head and raised a celebratory arm in the air.

Cater for millions

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recently hinted the band would play more shows to cater for the millions of fans unable to get their hands on tickets for their upcoming concert.

He said: "It's a bit selfish to do just one show. If that's it, we probably shouldn't have taken the genie out of the bottle."

The band - which also includes lead singer Robert Plant and bassist John Paul Jones - have reformed for a tribute concert to the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who signed the group. - Bang Showbiz.com

Tanz says... I wonder, did ABC put on this much of a hoo-haa when Madonna french kissed Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera on stage a couple years back? Seems like its got more to do with some homophobe sitting at the top who doesn't mind some HLA but cringes when a guy does the same thing. And didn't Lady Gaga walk on stage half naked for one of her shows other than being covered in a sort of clingwrap...? Narrow minded, homophobic bigots, in positions of power will be the only reason for Adam Lambert not suceeding because the guy has talent. You'd have to be deaf not to hear it! Read the article...
