Chilli bite a human finger

San Jose - Investigators in San Jose, California are trying to find out how a well-cooked human finger found its way into a bowl of chilli served at a local fast food restaurant.
The well-manicured digit was discovered by an unfortunate diner who bit in to the reportedly neatly manicured finger as part of her dinner.
Health authorities immediately impounded the batch of chilli from which the contaminated portion came.
They advised the woman to take tests for viral infections even though the finger had been well cooked and was unlikely to contain any viruses.
The restaurant was allowed to reopen and to cook another batch of chilli using newly purchased ingredients.
According to the San Jose mercury News, the digit was found in two pieces, and appeared to have been torn off, possibly by manufacturing machinery, rather than cleanly cut.
Since all of the workers at the restaurant were found to be in possession "of all 10 of their fingers", health inspectors assume the finger likely entered the food chain as a result of the manufacturing process, the report said. - Sapa-dpa
