Carats for the bunny

London - Chocolate eggs and bunnies usually fly off the shelves at Easter, but this holiday treat may not move as quickly. The Diamond Stella Egg, covered in 100 half-carat diamonds, priced at £50 000 pounds (about R527 000), was unveiled on Tuesday at La Maison du Chocolat in London.
The egg, which stands more than 60cm high, was made at a specialty shop in Paris.
No glue or tape was used to attach the diamonds. After the shop in London received the chocolate egg from Paris, a chef melted small sections of it in order to place the diamonds around the outside, said store spokesperson Gavin Kimble.
The inside contains peach and apricot chocolate and pralines.
Duttson Diamonds, also in London, provided the jewels for the Diamond Stella Egg.
