Washington - It doesn't matter who you are: Even if you're Bill Gates, you won't get into the White House without identification.
The founder of Microsoft Corp who is listed year after year at the top of Forbes magazine's list of the world's wealthiest people, appeared at the gates of the presidential home without an ID and was barred by members of the Secret Service, the congressional newspaper Roll Call reported on Thursday.
Gates, whose face is well-known in the United States, explained that he had left his ID in his car, but it didn't cut him any slack with the president's bodyguards.
So one of Bill's minions went to fetch it, and Gates was let in for a meeting with Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. - Sapa-DPA
