Johannesburg - A dairy farmer from Harding in KwaZulu-Natal has become the second participant to get the chop in M-Net's Survivor South Africa: Malaysia.

Nicola Windt, 37, was voted off on Wednesday night during the meeting of the island's tribal council.

"I could see the stange body language of my tribal members, but I really didn't think I was in danger of being voted off," she said on Wednesday evening from a guest house in Randburg.

The mother of seven said on the day she e-mailed her entry she started preparing herself physically for Survivor.

For months she swam a kilometre every day, stepped up her gym routine to a higher fitness level, practised on obstacle courses and acquired a "catty" (catapult) to learn how to shoot with it.

Strategy

"I was quiet and stayed in the background. I just tried to integrate. I didn't want everyone to see how strong I was physically," is how she described her strategy.

"Clearly, it didn't work."

Nicola said she was voted off because the alliance between her, Dyke and Hein was too strong. "Of the three I was the weakest."

Depending on how the dynamics change, Nicola thinks Hein has the best chance of winning the game.

"He looks like a Survivor, talks like one and acts like one."

Although it was a wonderful challenge and something she whole-heartedly wanted to do, she doesn't think she'll tackle something like that again.
