Dube murder accused denied bail

Johannesburg - Ludwe Gxowa, the man suspected of murdering reggae star Lucky Dube, was denied bail when he appeared with six others in the Balfour Magistrate's Court on Thursday on theft charges, police said.
The men were charged with stealing copper cable valued at R150 000 from an Eskom power station near Grootvlei, Balfour, in September last year, said Captain Leonard Hlathi.
While his six co-accused are out on bail for the robbery, Gxowa has been kept in custody.
Gxowa was out on bail when he allegedly assisted in the murder of Dube, said Hlathi.
The case was postponed until March 20.
