Johannesburg - Leisure Options readers have voted the Coca-Cola Dome the best concert venue in Johannesburg for the 11th consecutive year.
"We are truly proud of this achievement and recognise every team member for their contribution to our success," the dome's general manager Grant Medcalf said in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the dome's popularity was based on consumers' experience at events and consistent quality, which were the result of the venue's versatility and staff's professionalism.
The annual Leisure Options Best of Jo'burg Readers' Choice Awards are based on votes cast by the newspaper's 500 000 readers.
The Coca-Cola dome was opened by former president Nelson Mandela in 1998.
Since then, it has hosted performances by, among others, Celine Dion, Cliff Richard, Elton John, Mary J Blige and Michael Buble.
In the next few months it intends hosting concerts by John Legend, The Parlotones and The Killers.
The Coca-Cola dome is owned by the Sasol Pension Fund and managed by Thebe Venue Management.
