Dear Editor,

I'd like to comment on the article "SARMF defends ANC's Jesus claim.

I don't know what's more shocking: the fact that the ANC has sunk to such a ridiculous level or the fact that the article offended even me, a non-religious person.

What a load of hogwash! The SA Religious Ministers are obviously just as deep into the Zuma-pocket as those who devotedly hang on to his every word. The same people who would change their minds in a flash should Zuma go down.

I can't help but wonder how the Muslim community would have responded if the ANC had equated Zuma to Allah. Or Ishvara or Adibuddha.

I think, and this is only my humble opinion, that Jesus would be quite offended to be put in the same category as Zuma. If the ANC believes Zuma is like Jesus; if they believe he suffers or is persecuted like the Christian icon then where are the records of Jesus standing trial for rape or corruption?

Does this mean that people should now sing "Bring me my machine gun" instead of "Silent Night"? The ANC should put down that machine gun and stop shooting themselves in the foot. It's cringeworthy.

How to eradicate poverty: Spend some money on DECENT education, build houses, train people with skills, teach them how to read. But OH NO, your precious anc would rather take that money (our TAX money) and buy bmw's blue light convoys, submarines, jets, etc. These are all INDISPUTABLE FACTS, and the best you can come up with to counter these facts, is play the race card. I am soo sure of it!

It's easy, the sooner we rid South African politics of the ANC the sooner we will see an improvement. The ANC have failed, there are so many reports out there now that have proved beyond doubt that the ANC have failed in the three key areas. Crime, education and health. Knowing this they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes by detracting from these key issues and we have every right to take them to task over it. Unlike the ANC other parties know they only as good as the next election and not until Jesus returns or making out like Zuma is like Jesus. That still doesn't take away the fact that we live in the most violent country in the world, with the highest Aids infection rate, poorest education policies. It isn't hard for other political parties to counter that but due to blind loyalty and a sense of owing the ANC for freedom they will never be afforded the opportunities, so I do not understand why pro-ANC put down opposition parties when they have not even had a chance to show what they capable of, instead we continue to witness the ANC enforce more and more policies as they see fit without proper consultation and regrd for the public.

Why would a christian like yourself lie to poor masses OR thru her teeth. The scripture/ Bible says "thou shalt not condemn nor judge but majority of christians in this country and judgemental and like to condem and to judge, including the Rev himself Mr Meshoe. We are told too much lies about blasphemy, I don't see any statement degrading the Lord Jesus. Stop claiming and prononuncing what suits you best just becauise you "hate" one man [Zuma].

Annie, I will pay the carpenter to make the cross and supply the hammer for your nails. If he is resurrected at the end of 3 days, I too will replace my crusifix of Christ with the gun totting version of Zuma on the cross. I will also then accept the statment that the ANC will rule until Jesus comes :)

Jesus was without sin. And only spoke the truth. He threw the greedy OUT of the temple. He sang about love, not machine guns. Jesus didn't sleep with the 'harlot'. He said 'honor your father and your mother'. Jesus GAVE to the poor. Zuma only reminds me of false prophets and his supporters, the pharisees.

Who was your 2nd comment directed at? You say to "her" that she is a liar. Who is "her"? Aren't you judging yourself? Did you note the part where the writer of this letter says she is not religious? Where did she say she hates Zuma? Comparing any human being to Jesus is wrong. NO-ONE can be compared to Him, because He is without sin. people stop misundertsanding issues and then treating your understandings as facts. only the suffering of JZ was likened to the suffering of Jesus. This does not suggest then that JZ is like Jesus with everything. It is impossible to have somebody like Jesus even well known pastors like Benny Hinn, pastor Chris etc. can never be like Jesus they are humans after all. So people lighten up and stop thinking only one-dimensional.

I thought Charlotte O was complaining about the decision of SARMF which does not see anything wring with Ace Magashule's statement. I peosonally think that they were wrong not to see anything wrong - but that has nothing to do with Zuma himself. The man has made his mistakes but this time it is Magashule who is in the wrong. Let us criticise fairly and not play the man instead of the ball - at least in football terms! I do not think we should also blame the ANC for these statements by individual.

If he was innocent why go all the way to mauritius to hide evidence that does not exist? By the way , four wives and how many children down the line? How many divorces? If you're not religious, but are offended by the Jesus comparison, then you it might be due to the accepted fact that religions serve a purpose (to set the rule on how to live). The problem comes in where the most powerful religion are slammed or teased by those who also realized that religion is not constant but a general philosophy and can be used in many ways to serve other purposes. Zuma's reasoning does however, not throw God of His thrown, but rather challenge the selective believe systems.

Nobody said Zuma is Jesus, but the Free State Premier said Zuma has endured the suffering that can be likened to that of Jesus. Now you tell me does this say Zuma is Jesus? People must not always misdirect the ANC statements to suits their needs for hating our African leader. Ever wonder why sensitive, spiritual people do not run companies or countries? Because it does not PAY to be gentle, generous and kind, like Jesus was. The country is not in white hands - how can one tell? Look at Home Affairs, look at Eskom, look at the schools, look at the hospitals and look at the roads. We may have had a total screw up government (which we never want back) - but the municiple level workers who were white actually did know how to do their jobs.
