The Mandela Way

by Mike Fraser
2009-07-17 10:07

Dear Editor,

The symbolism of Mandela Day to honour and celebrate the legacy of this great man is a great opportunity for South Africans.

People in South Africa are coming to the party in a big way volunteering to spend 67 minutes of their time in random acts of kindness.

It is a great way for us to remember and celebrate the values and the character of this inspirational leader.

Values of servant leadership, the humanitarian, the reconciler, the unifier, the nation builder, the family man, the statesman.

May the symbolism of Mandela Day be a catalyst to inspire us all to graduate to doing things and living our lives the Mandela Way.

May Mandela Day be a call to action to the Mandela Way.

May the leaders of South Africa be inspired to lead the Mandela Way.

May their actions in government always be to serve the interests of our Nation.

May the people of South Africa be inspired to reconcile and unify and build our South African Nation the Mandela Way.

May Mandela Day inspire us to reflect and discover our own values of compassion, forgiveness, humility, reconciliation, Nation building so that we can live the Mandela Way.

God bless Nelson Mandela!!! God bless our Nation!!!

Mike Fraser

We must be very carefully here. Don't praise Mandela like Jesus Christ.

Sinudeity 7/17/2009 10:15:20 AM
Yeah minister Siphiwo, why spend R2.4 million on TWO new mercedes', when people are protesting for services? ANC elites, YOU are not bigger than ANY OTHER South African. Stop living (with our tax money) like you are. The Mandela way, is not about self-interest, and self-profit.

Sihle 7/17/2009 10:23:26 AM
May God bless you as well Mr Fraser. Thanks for a wonderful piece of writting, that is so inspiring. Tomorrow is a great day for this nation and I hope for once we will read inspiring responses to your letter. Tomorrow I will spend my time praying for this nation, praying for unity and prosparity.

great one 7/17/2009 10:24:59 AM
I echo your sentiments...pity the current ANC leadership can't share the same views.

Bongani 7/17/2009 10:25:31 AM
I hope this Mandela day thing wont be repeated again. What happened to Kruger day. We love each other in public and hate each other in public. Now that the world will be watching we can not stop smilling at each other. We hate ANC, but we love Mandela, but he is part of ANC. Mandela was the shortest serving ANC president, compared to Luthuli, OR Tambo, but he stole the crown, I just wonder how. The person that we should all thank is OR Tambo, because when negotiations started he was the ANC president and if his head was not okay, we would be talking war now.I fail to understand how one man can take all the glory, when he part of a group.I love Mandela, he approved our constitution that gives more rights to criminals than normal citizens, abortion is not legal, under his leadership we bought fighting jets for billions and Zuma almost paid for it. I love this country.

Anon1 7/17/2009 10:26:10 AM
Madiba you are truley a great leader and an example to us all.

SimonP 7/17/2009 10:26:47 AM
As soon as the role models (leaders) start to serve the interests of the nation perhaps the masses will follow. They can start by prosecuting the perpetrators of granting illegal tenders, the thieves at SAA, SABC, Land Bank etc. Show us they serve the nation!

Juan 7/17/2009 10:27:00 AM
Let's take an honest look at Mandela. He was the former leader of a 'terrorist' organisation. Today, with the anc in control, people STILL live in terror of about 50 murders per DAY, never mind violent crime, rape, etc. The anc still terrorises people through their inaction on poverty and crime. But hey.. mandela, mbeki, zuma and all of their 'comrade' buddies now live in luxury like millionaires, while MILLIONS of people STILL don't have that 'better life for all' in squatter camps. The ONLY tangible thing that people got from mandela's government and party is a yellow t-shirt..which has probably faded by now.

BLACKsoWHAT! 7/17/2009 10:27:05 AM
I concur 100%, and to those that seek to label this great man a "terrorist", first think what positive contribution to the world have you done, besides whiiiine, and are you as a person willing to accept that you yourself aren't perfect.

Gareth 7/17/2009 10:28:39 AM
Dream on. I love Mandela, but let's be honest, do Malema and Zuma remind you of him?

Juan @Sinudeity 7/17/2009 10:30:39 AM
Are you STUPID?!!? Don't you know that you NEED 2 luxury cars with tv's and entertainment systems built in to serve the poor people of this country living in shacks!?

cos 7/17/2009 10:34:11 AM
Interesting read but it does pose a major problem.Your comment "Values of servant leadership, the humanitarian, the reconciler, the unifier, the nation builder, the family man, the statesman" - will mean that we need to find ourselves another president because President Jacob-"alleged rapist, fraudster, thief" - Zuma, who lives the life of luxury & allows his Ministers to do likewise while the masses are starving, uneducated in shacks, is definitely none of these things!

Shandu 7/17/2009 10:36:42 AM
@Mike F-Good article,i share your wishes for our country and our nation.Only if people can realise how blessed we are with such a beautiful country and world respected leaders like Mandela and Zuma.

I'm more interested to know what you my brother will be doing tomorrow for 67mins to contribute socially.
My contribution won't last 67mins,i bought some blankets some time ago and have not used them and will hand them out to some street dwellers in Wyneberg.
@Sinudeity-Your point noted about Siphiwo, i also condemn it,what will your contribution be for tomorrow? Polo,HalfW,SimonP,ChrisG and others Anon,Shimane,Mzi what will you guys be doing?

Please do not give that world famous " no we must do this everyday, not for 67mins" but people never do it daily, what's your contribution tomorrow guys, lets uplift SA!!

tdk 7/17/2009 10:39:33 AM
People don't even have a minute for each other, let alone 67 minutes, take this forum as an example. Why don't they rather take the 67min's and add all the crime done in that time and reflect back on this "Marvelous" Mandela movement. Would not take that long to come to the conclusion - it's a farce.

Sihle@Sinudeity,SimonP,Juan 7/17/2009 10:41:33 AM
whoever told you guys that you are great political analyst was wrong. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter Juan. its the same man that advocated reconciliation in this country when we wanted revenge. When comrade Chris Hani was assasinated he called for peace. Its really disturbing to see that you are going out of your way to advocate intolerance and hatred in this country instead of peace. God bless your souls.

Poloyatonki 7/17/2009 10:45:02 AM
Happy birth day Madiba, you did your job very well when you were employed by ANC. Mbeki abused his post but JZ is busy fixing that. We have problems like crime. And all the rapists needs to be castrated and make biltong and sell it at a rugby match. Happy birthday Madiba

JohnP 7/17/2009 10:53:02 AM
What's great about him Mike Fraser.Or are you suffering from some sort of WHITE GUILT syndrome.

Sinudeity @Sihle 7/17/2009 10:59:35 AM
Dont look at me, I like Mandela. Mandela is my hero. He COULD have gone the violent route, when apartheid was killed off, but he didnt. He wanted EVERYONE to unite. Then, you get the current ANC bunch, who want to meet us in the bushes, for voting COPE/DA, who tell us to get out of the country etc. Mandela deserves my respect.

Sinudeity @Sihle 7/17/2009 11:00:46 AM
Its funny, how, I call for the end of 'corruption', and you attack me for that. Is it racist to ask the ANC to stop stealing tax money? Mandela FTW. Its a pity, that nobody else, in the ANC, is like Mandela :(

Pule Winnies Mogohlo 7/17/2009 11:02:09 AM
O gole,O gole TATA.We have'nt seen Moses inthe Bible, but we have seen U Tata Mandela.I wish all leaders to be like U.GOD BLESS U as the Father of nation.MODIM A GO HLOGONOLOFATSE GO BE KHUTSO LEFASENG!!!

SimonP 7/17/2009 11:05:07 AM
@Sihle, please indicate where I advocated "intolerance and hatred instead of peace". I believe examples should be set by leaders, the govt should be corruption free and ALL criminals should be prosecuted, DONT YOU?

Mzi @ Juan, et al 7/17/2009 11:10:01 AM
this terrorist you referring to is celebrated worldwide, he was in the forefront in ensuring equality for all. he stood the worst pains inflicted by your kind on blacks. He is the meaning of freedom, he stands for everything that blacks wished for. the world will worship madiba till the end of time. you are just a sip in the ocean. now, please return mummy's laptop.

Danie 7/17/2009 11:10:54 AM
It is better to be quiet than to utter some foolish words. The poor and needy expected so much from this man when he was freed from jail and today they are still waiting. His term as president is long gone and nothing happened. The only thing that happened was the door was opened for the greedy and selfish to be voted into parliament so that they can feast themselves on the taxpayers money. He might have had great ideas for this country and maybe he dreamt of a better South Africa, but it all disappeared the day he left office.

Mafutha 7/17/2009 11:12:35 AM
@Poloyatonki-LOL,my man i almost fell off my chair laughing, yoh!!
I'm sure those fat rugby supporters who each weigh 300kg will enjoy the d*ck biltong, wash it down with some beer and shout at the ref for sending off Bakkies and SKalk, the biggest thugs in world rugby.

Wisdom @ PoloyPetrol 7/17/2009 11:12:41 AM
Partially agree with you. Happy happy TATA, but it is not Mbeki that failed us but ANC did.

nigel 7/17/2009 11:19:40 AM
This day should remind South Africans that peace, reconciliation & unity is the way forward. Nelson Mandela is one in 100 million, we can't expect all our leaders to be like him, but we can try to follow his example. It is easier to criticize, be negative, hateful, or destructive rather than be positive, peaceful, complimentary & creative, but if we don't try we can’t hope for a better future. We all have our faults, we can all improve, lets honor Mandela Day by committing to make SA a better place. Start with yourself, stop being resentful, get involved in positive way, contribute to our communities. Go to the DA web site they have a whole list of activities you can be involved in to help the poor, perhaps other parties are doing the same. Many whites reading my post are probably thinking to themselves, yea right..stuff them, & many Blacks reading this are probably thinking yea..spread you wealth, or leave…well that’s not going to help, White, Black & Colored should be saying, how can I make a difference, how can I help the destitute, how can I help change peoples attitudes. I cannot stand by & watch, while things that I can help with, get worse. If we all get involved, we can become an example to the rest of the world, at worst, this will be a slightly better place than it would have been.

Bill 7/17/2009 11:20:25 AM
The 67 min i will spend scratching my balls on my lazyboy with a castle in my hand watching the rugby.

SIHLE@S.S.J 7/17/2009 11:20:41 AM
unfortunately my friends i am not stupid to fall into your trap of racism, our tax money blah blah blah. I pay tax, and not everyone needs to say they hate a certain group to be racist, sinudeity you need lessons in social psychology you will then get your answer from there.

Percy 7/17/2009 11:22:59 AM
67 min helping the community..WHEN IS THE COMMUNITY GOING TO START HELPING THEMSELVES.

Sihle@johnP 7/17/2009 11:26:23 AM
now why do you vindicate MikeF. Do you want him to spew out the normal nonsense we see in these columns. Gratitude, Appreciation john thats what it is, maybe just maybe thats what you need.

Tsotsi 7/17/2009 11:28:07 AM
Eough of Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela etc. Everyone should start creating their own legacy in SA!

Garry 7/17/2009 11:31:07 AM
WHAT IS ALL THE FUSS ABOUT.IF THEY TURN mandela DAY INTO A HOLIDAY THEN I WILL BE HAPPY.

Delia 7/17/2009 11:31:34 AM
Madiba is truely a great man....Pity this world lacks humans like him....YOU have done a marvelous job...yeah!! yeah!! to a great man...HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow, hope you have a peaceful day....and may the Almighty give us a fews more years with you...I LOVE YOU MADIBA

Mandy - WHY? 7/17/2009 11:32:56 AM
Why must a specific day be set aside to do something "nice"? I feel the same way about "mothers/father's day" etc. Everyday we should get up and "do nice / be nice". It should be a way of life. Not wait for a special day to do the right thing. That said - Happy Birthday Madiba. Have a wonderful day.

Juan @ SIHLE 7/17/2009 11:33:39 AM
YES, EVERYONE pays tax. That tax money is supposed to build hospitals, train doctors, help the poor areas etc.. but NO, it goes to YOUR fatcat anc menesta's so they can buy expensive cars and houses, but you and your kind are just to stupid to EVER realise that, and your menesta's KNOW it!

Mzi @The fake Mzi 7/17/2009 11:34:26 AM
Please stop using my name and making an embaressment of me in this form.

Juan @mzi 7/17/2009 11:41:09 AM
Apartheid was ended with a few signatures on a document. But instead of helping out the poor people and providing services, the anc (mandela's party!!) chose to enrich themselves along with a few menesta's and 'comrades' while THEIR OWN PEOPLE STILL SUFFER TODAY. This 'freedom' you are talking about.. can you eat freedom? does 'freedom' educate your children? does 'freedom' keep rapists and murderers away? HELOOO!?!?!

Sinudeity @SIHLE 7/17/2009 11:42:23 AM
LOL, "I know you are, but what am I?". Great rebuttal Sihle, "I need to see a psychologist". You debate as well as JZ or Malema. No wonder they never wanted to faceoff with Zille on national TV. They would look like idiots.

kamawa 7/17/2009 11:47:31 AM
He is indeed a grt man who would embarass alot on this forum in terms of knowledge and intelligency.i will dedicate mine praying for the country to be a better place for all to live in.

SimonP 7/17/2009 11:50:30 AM
@Sihle,"not everyone needs to say they hate a certain group to be racist" So how do you tell if someone is racist or not, if the accused has not made a racist comment how can you call them racist? Do you assume anyone who is white and disagrees with you/ANC is a racist? I assume you dont mind your tax money being stolen for self enrichment. I really fail to understand why you tolerate this.

mduve 7/17/2009 11:54:03 AM
this forum is slwoly but surely turning into a war zone - its only a matter of time before we start to see casualties . You will notice them with their remarks afer the 2014 elections and beyond

Halfwise @ Poloyatonki 7/17/2009 11:56:28 AM
Ha ha ha thats joke of the day, we can give some of that biltong to Sinudeity, simonP and Juan ha ha ha ha you really craked me with that one... Happy birthday Madiba we will make sure that apartheid does not return by voting ANC forever.....

SIHLE@jUAN 7/17/2009 11:57:20 AM
shame man our kind, are you refering to a certain race cause if thats so you are so wrong. ANC is home to all races my friend. And they are your ministers as well buddy so deal with it.

mduve 7/17/2009 11:57:42 AM
the really dangerous people in SA can only be found on this forum . Their identity - negative attitude, name calling , hurling insults towards the masses, want to turn WC into a province, always attacking MZI,Polypetrol,CPT kid..should I go on. You people are one of the most dangerous peopl in SA

Marea @ Juan 7/17/2009 11:59:32 AM
Mandela is not the ANC. Even during the peak years of the struggle Mandela was not the ANC. You have clearly never met the man. I found him to be the most inspiring, intellectual warm hearted soul I have ever met. Who put aside anger, hurt, resentment with the ability to crush the country in violence to embrace love, acceptance, unity and forgiveness! Somehow you don't strike me as a man who could walk out of prison 27 years later having missed giving your daughter away at her wedding and being there to bury your son (among countless other atrocities)and choose peace and forgiveness. Respect the man for the inspiration he is and was. Respect the sacrifices he made for us all (when very few would do the same). Maybe then one day I could learn to respect you.

Juan @mduve 7/17/2009 12:04:53 PM
Yeah..well, we mention FACTS that you can't deny or argue against, and you can't handle THE TRUTH!!! Shame!

JohnP 7/17/2009 12:07:45 PM
@mduve you stupid thing.Nobody is insulting anybody you idiot.

John 7/17/2009 12:08:16 PM
Is Bin Laden also an activist? I’ll spend my 67 min thinking of the poor person that was shot dead last night in a hijacking.

SimonP 7/17/2009 12:09:15 PM
@Mduve, dangerous how? By demanding the goverment govern correctly and not tolerating corruption. Oh yer VERY dangerous.

Juan @halfwize 7/17/2009 12:09:17 PM
No thanks. KEEP your biltong. I can afford my own as I have a JOB. WHY do I have a job? Because I STUDIED and got a decent job, while your kind burnt tyres and threw rocks, hoping the anc government's jobs would rain down on you from the sky!!

SimonP 7/17/2009 12:11:52 PM
@Halfwise, show me one post from anyone advocating the return of apartheid. How simple can that be? And before you post DA is pro apartheid - they are NOT!

James 7/17/2009 12:13:26 PM
Sinudeity @SIHLE 7/17/2009 11:42:23 AM
They never needed to face-off with Zille on TV to look like idiots, they looked like idiots from the beginning. The only job that they continue to do well is the job of looking like idiots. (That is when they are not looking like stupid illiterate thieves). The best kind of foreign investment repellent on earth.

Mike J 7/17/2009 12:14:25 PM
To all you racists out there, black, white, pink, blue or brown, it is so sad to read your comments. You people need to start behaving like humans and accept each person for whatever creed or colour they be. To built a nation, you need to unite as one and together as a united front, address the wrong doings of those in power. Sadly, over the past few weeks that i have been reading your comments, hatred, intolerance and ignorance seem to cloud your thinking and respect for your fellow countrymen. Please people, i beg of you to do whats right for the country and not to be selfish in your actions and outburst. Rome was not built in a day, nor will South Africa, but by standing as a united nation, we will achieve so much more. I dare any of you to spend 27years in jail and come out and be as humble and as forgiving as Mr Mandela. We should be proud as South Africans, that amongst our midst, we have a man, leader, statesmen that is revered and respected all over the world. In the famous words of JFK, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country... Mr Mandela, Sir, I salute you for all that you have done for SA. May you have a peaceful and blessed birthday and may we have the honour of your presence in this country for many years to come.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADIBA!!!!!

Sinudeity @Halfwise/Polo 7/17/2009 12:14:35 PM
Yep, and I will make sure apartheid stays abolished, by continuing to call for the end of BEE/AA. Death to apartheid! Death to AA and BEE!

Sinudeity @mduve 7/17/2009 12:17:42 PM
You are right mduve. The MOST dangerous people, in South Africa, can be found on these forums. Those ones that protect corrupt politicians. Those who praise and worship corrupt politicians. Those that uplift racism and apartheid (BEE/AA). Those that want other races to leave South Africa, those that attack other races from other African nations. The racists and the xenophobes. Those are the true enemies of South Africa. Black and white.

Peter 7/17/2009 12:19:51 PM
If one of you in this forum has not got anything to do in the 67 min tomorrow can you let me know.I need someone to mow my lawn(cut the grass) and pickup the dogshit everywhere.Anybody interested let me know on this forum and i will give you my contact details ..Thank you

Yes great idea and I am willing to do my bit but my enthusiasm was somewhat squashed when I read the follwoing today "Communications inister Siphiwe Nyanda has treated himself to a pair of German luxury cars, one to use in Pretoria and the other in Cape Town.Cost R1 135 500 each" How selfish and pathetic.

Cape Town Kid 7/17/2009 12:23:09 PM
THERE COMES A TIME WHEN THE HEAVEN BESTOWS EXTRAORDINARY HUMAN BEINGS TO THE EARTH. MADIBA POSSESSES AND PRACTISES EXTRAORDINARY QUALITIES THAT NONE OF US CAN CLAIM WE HAVE. ANY DESCRIPTION OF MADIBA IS INSUFFICIENT. HE IS ABOVE ALL THE LABELS AND TAGS, HE IS SIMPLY INDESCRIBABLE. FOR A LAAITIE, LIKE ME, I WISH I COULD TAKE JUST ONE SIMPLE THING AND PRACTISE THAT, TOMORROW AND FOREVER ON HIS BIRTHDAY. MADIBA REMINDS US THAT WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS AND THAT WE HAVE SO MUCH TO GIVE. IN GIVING, WE GIVE UNTO OURSELVES. MADIBA MAY GOD BESTOW ON YOU A LONGER LIFE, FILLED WITH HAPPINESS. MAY YOU HAVE NO PAIN AND MAY YOU LIVE TO SEE MANY OF YOUR SPIRITUAL IDEALS FULFILLED. MAY GOD BLESS YOU FORERVER...YOU TRUELY ARE A SPECIAL HUMAN BEING!

Chris G @ Mduve 7/17/2009 12:29:42 PM

@mduve.... I feel a bit uneducated at the moment. Isn't the WC already a province in South Africa?

lm@Mike Fraser 7/17/2009 12:33:49 PM
If only people in leadership positions would actually remember that they are there to serve the people and not just for their own selfish reasons. Selflessness is something our leaders really need to take out of Madibas legacy. Happy bday to tata Madiba, the definition of a true humanitarian!! Hope you my fellow countrymen will be doing your bit for those less fortunate tomorrow.

G Man 7/17/2009 12:34:00 PM
@mduve. You are quite right. The dangerous people are on this forum. People with brains who can think for themselves. People that do not accept corruption, greed, bad service delivery and the exploitation of the masses for personal gain. People who expect to be governed by leaders with integrity. If that makes us dangerous, then yes WATCH OUT, WE ARE!!! Oh, and by the way numbskull, Western Cape IS a province. My God you are stupid!

While Mandela is a great man, what did he actually do?? He fought against aparthied and got @ss locked up thats what he did!! The NP released him from jail due to international pressure! So what did he actually do to end aparthied? He was only released from prison. No, I wont be wasting my time thinking of him during the course of tomorrow, I make sure that I am kind to someone EVERY day of my life, don't need it to be Mandela's birthday to give me permission to do that. This whole affair has really become so commercialized now.

To dumb nduve 7/17/2009 12:52:20 PM
The Western Cape is already a province...it's dumb people like you that are the real danger. I'll take a bet and say you're an ANC supporter. JUst also remember, that the west liberated South Africa not the ANC. If the West agreed with apartheid and supported it the NP government would still be kicking your liberation movement's arse around the country right now. Actually, there probably wouldn't be any ANC arse to be kicked anymore.
Know your place in the chain you racist idiot!!

To Juan, you suck , the people of Mandela generations were labelled terrorist because they were bold to confront your fathers face to face and tell them that they cannot leave like slaves in their own land. They were even prepared to die for what they knew was right. Mandela whom you label a terrorist spent 27 years of his life in prison for what he knew was right and could not even be bribed by the Appartheid regime to come out of prison and live like a king while his fellow citizens were suffering. If he was a so called terrorist All pink skinned people who call themselves white would not be any where in this country, but irrespective of all that he went through he was able to say let's sit down and negotiate for the good of our country, he did not want to pay revenge.Damn you Juan you such an idiot

This morning my brother, I helped my eight year old to select a pile of the clothes that he no longer, and take them to school in return for wearing "civies". At 14:00 today, he and his buddies will be going to an orphanage to donate the clothes, and to spend some time with the less fortunate kids. Tomorrow I am doing the same, but for my relatives. Thank you for asking. Oh, I will send a prayer for "inkwenkwe" Juan to the Man Above to help inkwenkwe to deal with is hatred for God's people who were created in His image, just in a different colour

It is such a shame that a message of love & hope for such a great world icon, our Madiba, can be thrashed in with the filth that is expressed in this forum. where is our self-respect? We should hang our heads in shame.

Anon1@ Myself 7/17/2009 1:13:58 PM
I think they were called terrorists because they blew up churches and shopping malls with woman and kids, rather than targeting state institutions. Its the same as the British where they put woman and children in consentration camps, raped and killed them because they could not win the Boer War otherwise.

Mandy @ Mafutha again 7/17/2009 1:15:11 PM
You know what Mafutha, I can carry on giving as good as I get,and getting you pissed off with me, but I am not. Why don't you read my 1st post on this article. Have a look at Mandy 11:32. I really am tired of all the crap on these blogs. It really spoils my day. And I am serious - have a nice day.

SimonP 7/17/2009 1:28:41 PM
@Lucky Ralawe, seems you have, like some others labelled me a racist. Show me one post that contains racism. Fedup defined racism as "disagreeing with black people" is that what you think racism is? Or do you believe it is disagreeing with a corruot govt? Just let me know so that I can prove you wrong.

Mandy @ Sinudeity & Mafutha 7/17/2009 1:28:42 PM
He started it. LOL. See my first post at 11:32. That is my honest opinion.

Alien Dude @ ctk 7/17/2009 1:39:12 PM
"FOR A LAAITIE, LIKE ME, I WISH I COULD TAKE JUST ONE SIMPLE THING AND PRACTISE THAT, TOMORROW AND FOREVER "......here's an idea....how about leaving this forum forever ?

Wisdom 7/17/2009 1:40:25 PM
It is far easier to label someone a racist than to debate the issues. So take it that when labelled a racist it rally means, I cannot debate you.

krrrrrrrrrrrr.! 7/17/2009 1:40:28 PM
peeekay u sick bastard racists!!

Mumbojumbo 7/17/2009 1:46:40 PM
What a shame that Mandela endosed JZ, weekend at berneys style before the free and fair elections. New terrorists will turn into heroes in the future , it is how it works. Viva la revolution.

Juan @ Lucky Ralawe 7/17/2009 2:02:59 PM
I take NO offence to being callecd an 'inkwenwe' as I do not come frmo a culture with basbaric practices such as unsterilised circomcision. If you REALLY want to get back at me, try to DISPROVE any of my facts! But until you can prove to me that menesta's buying fancy mercs are MORE important than helping out the poor masses...please shut up!!

simon 7/17/2009 2:11:29 PM
Yeah! M is great, but enough already. This looks like a money-making effort to me!
Anyway, the people that should be listening, the people that should learn, are right here running this country, and they do not care two hoots!

Mzi 7/17/2009 2:18:22 PM

Previous post was not posted, as I dared to tell the truth. The moderator of this forum needs to moderate posts that are abusive and NOT post that state FACTS (no matter which side they agree on).

If you dare to makes a positive or negative contribution people will thinks you a racist. VIVA

Puhleez 7/17/2009 2:30:03 PM
Of course Mandela is not perfect (he is only human) but he comes pretty close. Just looking at his genuine smile, which comes from within, makes me feel less aggressive and lowers my blood pressure. He is wise, he is sensitive and he makes us proud to be African. Whenever you feel hate and anger, think of Madiba and spread the love instead! Common guys, just do it.

FedUp! 7/17/2009 3:16:38 PM
A really positive article, about a really positive individual - and as usual everyone is fighting, name calling, and all the other bullshit that happens on this forum. In the spirit of Mandela... Im wasting my time.

motswanagape 7/17/2009 3:30:18 PM
Happy birthday Nelson Mandela.A man of peace.O gole o lekane le tlou.May God give u many more.

Have any of you read the The Dinokeng Scenarios, if not see http://www.sagoodnews.co.za/newsletter_archive/three_roads_diverged.html, judging by the posts, most of you are on your way to scenario 1 (walking apart)...read up on this, because it explains what will happen to you in time to come, the third scenario (Walking together) describes, what will happen if we work together. It is interesting to note that there are 3 scenarios, 1 really bad, 1 not too bad, & one quite good. So thats a 60% chance of failure, or 30% chance of success. We are going to need all the help we can get to succeed, so it is suggested that you start contributing, because the window of opportunity is smaller than most of you realize.

JoJo 7/18/2009 9:38:43 AM
To the above I say: Same old, same old. I guess even if the letter had been about the day's weather, the blame would fall on 1) the ANC, 2) apartheid 3) the West 4) Zuma 5) Malema etc etc

TheRock @Halfwise @ Poloyatonki 7/20/2009 8:21:55 AM
"we will make sure that apartheid does not return by voting ANC forever....." Haha, probably the only time I ever agree with you on anything. Please proofread your posts before clicking send.

Kwaai says... Good article but please the whole "Africa is not for sissies" thing is rubbish!!! Murder and rape do not make you tough no one should have endure this! So once again I commend you on a good article but you seem to be forgetting that a large portion of South Africans DON’T feel that there is anything wrong with SA and "like it just fine" the way it is.
