'Getting away with crime'

by
2008-11-28 12:56

Dear Editor,

I have been informed that Mr Andrew Phillips has won his court case and is now stating that he is going to reopen the ranch, making it bigger and better than before.

As far as I know, prostitution is still illegal in this country, but if Mr Phillips can get away with running a brothel, then I have decided that I am going to open a knock-shop at every one of my branches of Teazers nationwide.

Do you have even a small inclination as to how much money I would make if my customers could have all their eggs in one basket?

I cannot believe that this is what the country has come to: have your assets seized and your club closed due to prostitution, but don't worry you'll get it all back.

All that the law is now saying is that you can commit a crime and get away with it.

Why are we paying taxes which go partly towards all the legal departments? Why should we even have legal departments? What happened to first legalising abortion before even thinking about prostitution?

I have always run Teazers with a clean slate and abided by the law with no prostitution and no drugs, however it now seems that it wasn't necessary for me to be so vigilant in this regard.

I think it is a case of certain people being exempt from the law, and if that is the case, I would like to know if I am on the list so I can also go around breaking the law and get an apology from the legal factor for standing in my way.

I would like to know what the public has to say regarding this issue.

Lolly Jackson

I fully agree with you,why have courts and law, when after it is all done then they just well oops and here is your stuff back,it cost 80 million rands to prosecute him, where do whe as tax payers get our money back?

Mr B 11/28/2008 1:07:30 PM

Smokey-Smurf 11/28/2008 1:08:10 PM
Haha! Lolly, kyk of jy die term "1 stop service station" kan inwerk by jou nuwe bedryf. :)

Mmm...pot, kettle, black...make a sentence

moe66 11/28/2008 1:09:01 PM
hey lolly, you worried he might take some of your business?? grow up man!!

Jacques de Villiers 11/28/2008 1:10:05 PM
That is rich! A greasy sleezeball like Lolly commenting on the law. What about your speeding and assault charges, to name a few? You should keep out of the media you two-bit low class sob but being the type that you are, you probably enjoy the attention. You are living proof that money cannot buy class. By the way, when are you taking your thing and buggering off somewhere else like you promised.

Anon 11/28/2008 1:15:09 PM
Mmm...pot, kettle, black....form a sentence

Ha Ha 11/28/2008 1:15:09 PM
Lolly. Funnt you should try and take a moral highground.!! Seems you rather scared of some stiff opposition. A bit like the ANC and Cope

Nicole 11/28/2008 1:19:23 PM
you are one and the same with the person you are criticizing. You also create a platform for women to be exploited and drag our name as independent people through the mud. Are we supposed to feel sorry for you and the money you "could" have. From what I have heard you have plenty. You make me sick, are you actually taking the moral high ground? What you do should be illegal too, there are no words for you!

Paul 11/28/2008 1:21:28 PM
This member of the public thinks this is the funniest letter for ages. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! ROFL!

Tim 11/28/2008 1:22:09 PM
The golden rule is that if you have to ask if your name is on the list it almost certainly isn't.

Customer 11/28/2008 1:28:02 PM
Lolly you twat. What about pleazers above your Midrand outlet. Seen a few things go up and down there myself. Grow up

Mr B 11/28/2008 1:28:07 PM
Okkkeeee i'l back you up ! ...can me and my friends get VIP treatment for one evening ??? :-) I'm right behind you...what counts for one must count for all ?!

jvdwest 11/28/2008 1:28:55 PM
You are missing the point. You may not agree with what Lolly does, but it is legal. What this judge has now done is create a precedent where the law does not matter. Prostitution is against the law, but this judge has now "legalized" it.

nthatuwa 11/28/2008 1:32:00 PM
I thought we were becoming Zimbabwe, clearly we can add Nigeria on the list and who knows,we can also add DRC.Our law is very selective. The poor are thrown in jails so quick while the rich can stall and eventually get aquitted. We might as well do what we want and see our standing in this country. If we have money,we'll most likely be pardoned, get free bail and an apology on top of it all

BB 11/28/2008 1:32:00 PM
Supply / demand, business is business. Good luck with your new venture!

Philip 11/28/2008 1:32:34 PM
I love it!

VG 11/28/2008 1:35:28 PM
hahahahaha...omg, i can't breate I' laughing so hard. Between Lolly and Smokey-Smurf, my stomach muscles are getting one helluva workout! Is today April 1st and nobody told me?! hahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Bongani 11/28/2008 1:35:42 PM
hahahaha, I have been to a teazers and had a prostitude at the venue, paid for and enjoyed, lolly you are already doing what you threaton, so shut up and enjoy the money!!!

Elizabeth 11/28/2008 1:37:16 PM
While I am totally against strip clubs, etc (like Nicole, I also think it's exploitation, immoral and sick), I agree on the other hand with Lolly with regards to the legal aspect. What's good for the goose should be good for the gander. The same laws should be applied to EVERY citizen in this country! There are so many criminals literally getting away with murders (committed over and over again, some with rapes thrown in) while others get long sentences for one murder committed.

ims 11/28/2008 1:40:59 PM
can't beat them join them? well, if you lolly jackson want teazers to be painted with the same brush as the ranch then you are cutting your nose off to spite your face! but hell one way to rid us of the filth is for them to make use of the brothels and pick up all sorts of "diseases" quite a joke!!!

Vic 11/28/2008 1:42:32 PM
Their a tought crowd man, not your usual supporters/clientelle would be found in here. Pot calling the Kettle black........ The have a point. But yeah. Doesnt make the ruling right.......

Breaking News 11/28/2008 1:43:23 PM
Your local ladies offer more than just lap dancers backstage. (not in every case but quite often ...) Bet you didn't know that hey ??? :-)

leigh 11/28/2008 1:44:04 PM
Lolly, get off your high horse, you are well known as being an egotistical and corrupt megalomaniac who disregards the law and now you want to play poor kitty. Get over yourself.

Pangea 11/28/2008 1:44:19 PM
Lolly the only way this problem is going to get solved is when they legalize and regulate adult prostitution. At the moment government, society, and the whole establishment is in denial about prostitution and one of the reasons is that they have used a working girl for services some time in their life and now they cannot face it. Maybe government needs to listen to reality and regulate the sex industry like in Europe and Oz.

JJM 11/28/2008 1:46:24 PM
Mr Jackson, you may not know it but there is quite a bit of underhanded behaviour happening at some of your branches. However I do agree with the statement, but do not know all the facts from the Ranch.

Buckwheat 11/28/2008 1:47:40 PM
Everybody knows that Teazers is just a flimsy front for a brothel-type operation. Its easy to get paid-for sex there - this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. And even if not, its an immoral operation and you have no leg to stand on when it comes to morals and ethics.

Gus 11/28/2008 1:51:16 PM
Well, Lolly, that is very rich coming from you! How many of those foreign girls would be in your clubs if they did'nt have to? They are exposed young girls with little hope and you exploit every one of them. What you do amounts to human trafficking, only, just like Mr Phillips, you get away with it. Perhaps you should just shut-up when it comes to moral/legal issues.

Paul 11/28/2008 1:52:46 PM
I doubt that the Ranch is any competition to Teazers. The conversation at hand is about how the law isn't always applied the same to everybody. I'm sure it's a little loophole somewhere, but that's precisely the problem. To find the loophole, you need to pay some unscrupelous attorney to find/abuse the loophole, something the normal person can't do.

Buckwheat 11/28/2008 1:55:35 PM
It demeans men! I mean, to go pay money to watch a woman strip and offer herself for gyno-type examination is an embarrassment to men, not women! Those chicks make a fortune, by the way - and thats just for the over-the-counter services!

Sinudeity@Gmail.com 11/28/2008 1:55:59 PM
If you steal, you get promoted. You get carried by your brothers and sisters to jail. You simply ignore the outcry's for your blood, laugh them off, and go on with your underhanded business. That, or you run for President.

anti-government 11/28/2008 1:56:03 PM
Welcome to the NWO! this is but the start of rooting out the freedom of the law abiding citizens regardless of sex and race. If you are on the right side you'll be prosecuted! Corruption comes from above... corrution has no way of climbing the ladder but loves to slide down. And so the End is comming near! no god or human shall get in the way of this ever unless the law is taken back to the real people. but it can't because the human thinks as individuals.

Valiant 11/28/2008 1:57:18 PM
TEAZERS FOREVER!!

John-Henry 11/28/2008 1:58:09 PM
Morally you are no different from Mr. Phillips. You are just peeved because some of your clients will now be going to him. It is as simple as that! Please do "open a knock-shop at every one of your branches of Teazers nationwide". You have "abided by the law", but make no mistake, that is ALL you have done. If prostitution was legal you would have been in that business. This little tantrum of yours is pathetic, to put it mildly.

Badger 11/28/2008 1:58:59 PM
I think you just pissed, caused now there is competition :)

SimonP 11/28/2008 2:00:01 PM
...in SA is a joke. It has nothing to do with statutes, its all about pleasing certain people. Is prositution legal? No, therefore all brothels and lets face it there are many should be shut down. Are they? No. The question is why. Why bother passing laws with no intention of upholding them. waste of money and time

nirvana 11/28/2008 2:00:21 PM
you are a bunch of sick people, wel if you cant get a woman to like you maybe you could pay her. may your soul rot in hell.

Chillipepper 11/28/2008 2:00:43 PM
Me thinks you are the last person to comment on the law! How about the street kid shot & killed by your friend/brother and YOU were there? Is there justice for him? How about the Asian prostitutes accusing you of taking their passports and condemning them to work at your 'classy' Teasers? How about your speeding & drunk charges? You could have killed someone.. How about that club you and your croonies closed down on Rivonia Boulevard coz u have power & money? Clean slate? Teazers come on!

pangea 11/28/2008 2:01:43 PM
Lolly the only way this problem is going to get solved is when they legalize and regulate adult prostitution. At the moment government, society, and the whole establishment is in denial about prostitution and one of the reasons is that they have used a working girl for services some time in their life and now they are in denial about it. Maybe government needs to listen to reality and not to moral crusaders that really do not offer any solution.

Spongebob 11/28/2008 2:02:24 PM
Who ever said crime doesn't pay was telling a lie. SA is gangsters paradise...

Eric 11/28/2008 2:03:03 PM
Lolly I think you should open your "knock shop"! You are guaranteed my business! :) And if they take you to court one day just refer to the State vs Andrew Phillips case! Boom! You settled!

Glock 22c 11/28/2008 2:03:25 PM
As if you dont have enough money yet? But I do agree whats good for the goose and good for the rest ...

Dave 11/28/2008 2:06:22 PM
I believe you do have a knock shop next to your Midrand Teazers branch whats it called again?mmmmmmmm Pablo's is the name so maybe you should gt investigated so don't use Mr Andrew Phillips as an excuse to make your knock shop investment ''legal''

Big Bad Bob 11/28/2008 2:07:04 PM
The case was settled on a technicality. There is no implication that prostitution is now legal. But maybe it should be - within certain parameters: No curb crawling, no keeping of brothels, but private "escorts", dominatrices etc may conduct business with consenting adults and must keep accounts and pay tax.

halitosis_for_all 11/28/2008 2:07:04 PM
"I think it is a case of certain people being exempt from the law" You sound surprised? Which planet have you been living on?

VLS 11/28/2008 2:08:17 PM
Andrew Phillips didn't "win" his court case. He wasn't prosecuted due to a technicality which the 3 (white) advocates briefed by the State as well as the State Attorney ought to have picked up. Your infantile reaction is unwarranted and only shows your ignorance.

kitchenboy 11/28/2008 2:08:27 PM
i am a very openminded person and i have absolutly no problem with nudity or stripping or even legalised prostitution, but one flesh peddler slamming (no pun intended) another flesh peddler is just so much BS

ShockedShembi 11/28/2008 2:09:12 PM
Its so crazy how everyone is super against teazers. So what if people have coitus at the club,Its all consentual isn't it?haha.I haven't been to Teazers or the ranch but if you do enjoy that sort then good for you!People are INDIVIDUALS...Same species,Variable Toughts!

Ex AIU insider 11/28/2008 2:09:23 PM
Please be honest Lolly, we all know what goes on next door to your TZR club in Stormvoel rd. And that is not the only one. But anyway, go ahead and open up brothels next to your clubs 'cause I would just love to see Mr Phillips fail and go under permanently. His arrogance astounds me and justice has to be served one way or the other. Don't worry about the cops either, all the relevant units were disbanded long ago anyway.....

Arthur 11/28/2008 2:10:19 PM
Money Talks: The more money you can spend on defence attornies fee's the lesser your crime - have you heared of a stinking rich person behind bars in South Africa? Free VIP membership: Give free VIP membership and services, e.g drugs, etc, to those who would prosecute you.

Lying Lolly 11/28/2008 2:10:25 PM
What about Pablo's in Midrand Lolly? This is a brothel where illegal immigrants ply their trade for the Teazers customers and its on the very same premises. Hypocrite.

Adam 11/28/2008 2:11:16 PM
Sounds to me like Sour Grapes. If you can't beat them join them I say!

Nick 11/28/2008 2:12:24 PM
Dude, I've been to 3 of your clubs, more that once. And twice I have been offered, and paid for, a little extra with one of your girls. You were even at the club the one night that this happened. So please, just zip it, so to speak!

Morena 11/28/2008 2:13:08 PM
and look who is talking, the worst of the evils.....

Andre 11/28/2008 2:14:09 PM
I must agree with you on this one but i bet you that someone probably has a few extra bucks in his back pocket.

GP 11/28/2008 2:14:53 PM
like some cheese with your whine... :-) What a joke...lol

Cronje Fourie 11/28/2008 2:14:59 PM
I'm not sure based on which technical detail his case was won, but I agree that to once again allowing a known brothel to open up is rather outrageous. Off course it might be that most of the lawyers and judges on the case were regular clients ;)

Lorraine 11/28/2008 2:16:01 PM
After reading your comment, I would like to ask you: If your interest is really in running a clean establishment, free of drugs and prostitution, why are you concerned should somebody else do things differently? Remember, the public chooses to visit these establishments and they will only exist should there be a demand. So whatever establishment people choose is a reflection of what people desire, of what they are about.

Philip S 11/28/2008 2:16:12 PM
Hi Lolly, You may lose money if the ranch opens as i am going to spend my money between the two joints.

Chris 11/28/2008 2:16:59 PM
coming from SA's #1 pimp! And please don't try and tell us that lap dances paid for all your luxuries, including your obscene collection of sports cars!

fuzzy 11/28/2008 2:17:07 PM
Strange but true! Virtually everything else surroundung prostitution is an offence but not the deed itself. Procurement (pimping), living off the proceeds, keeping a brohel will all get you into hot water. Lolly, by defination the acts committed in your places are enticing or importuning people to the commision of a lewd act. You should be charged.

Viparo 11/28/2008 2:17:55 PM
Everyone knows and always has known that the ranch was a knock shop. It never pretended to be anything else. One thing you can take pride in thou, is that Teazers has always maintained "the teaze without the sleaze" motto. Therefore, isn't a sleazy place to visit, but a fun night out with your mates. Let the patrons who leave a teazers go wherever they please after wards for "the sleaze". You have a sustainable business model, and a brand to be proud of.

jeremy 11/28/2008 2:18:04 PM
Andrew Phillips had to wait EIGHT years for his case to come to a conclusion. In that time, his assets have probably deteriorated to the point where they're worth virtually nothing. If there was a case against Phillips, it should have been settled years ago. Whether or not Phillips ran a brothel, he was very obviously set up, while, you, Mr Jackson, run around in your Lamborghini's. Good luck to Phillips I say.

Arthur 11/28/2008 2:18:55 PM
South Africa has adopted the same system as the U.S when dealing with High Flying criminal bosses - hit them for tax-evasion. Just a thought: If you robbed a Bank of 50M rand, declared the 50M to SARS as income and paid tax on it, and the tax payment is accepted by SARS, would it not make the state an accessory after the fact?

gazmic 11/28/2008 2:19:00 PM
A person can have sex with anyone of legal age for free. Anyone can give anyone else cash for a service. Anyone can pay for a spa day and have someone give them intimate spa treatments. But for some reason, you can't do all 3 simultaneously without it being illegal? Just shows how backwards we still are. Keep exploitation and trafficking illegal, but regulate and tax legal prostitution - then Lolly can buy another Koenigsegg and the courts can focus on real crime.

Trev 11/28/2008 2:22:03 PM
How fast does that Lambo go again Mr Jackson ? Oh sorry, you would never break the law right ?

SC 11/28/2008 2:26:46 PM
Bring back the Ranch and Tittytwisters, then Andrew will have 3 operations on your doorstep.... Lolly are the rumours true that you actually "framed" Andrew and got him arrested so that your Rivonia branch could operate without competition?

leslie 11/28/2008 2:27:32 PM
It is sad when law fails,in such a simple manner as a technicality.

Steph 11/28/2008 2:28:41 PM
Are you really going to pretend that you do not know about the goings on in your establishment. Please, do not offend our intelligence. You are just as big a piece of sh1t as he is.

Riaan 11/28/2008 2:28:57 PM
I am sure Lolly is not concerned about competition, do you guys have any idea how rich he already is?? The guy makes more money than all of you combined. You people are the one's that's jealous cause he though of it 1st. There will always be enough h*rny men out there who's wallets can be tapped. Grow up, get a life and give the man credit where it's due. He took something sleazy, made it classy and is making a mountain of money from it. Supply + Demand = $$$

IceCreamMan 11/28/2008 2:30:08 PM
for goodness sakes it should be legal. The state cannot be a moral watchdog. I would not trust the govt with anything let alone my morals.

T 11/28/2008 2:31:30 PM
you just want approval from the public that is how it sounds to me.You have run teazers on clean slate?? Not so long ago you appeared in court for contravening the immigration act, you were released on a R20 000 bail. You are no different from him so dont start complaining.

Ginger 11/28/2008 2:34:24 PM
Wake up and smell the coffee. There is no proper law in South Africa. There is one for the connected and one for the not connected. If there was real justice half our government would be behind bars. You could have as many illegal enterprises as you want - providing you don't forget to give a percentage takings to the right departments.

Me 11/28/2008 2:34:42 PM
Mr Jackson, I think there are more pressing issues than bald, paunchy men being satisfied by people working for a living (albeit still illegal). Rape, murder, terrorism, corruption versus prostitution???? Prostitution anytime. At least someone is having fun and the other gets paid for it. Get off your high horse. Rather legalize prostitution.

Pensive 11/28/2008 2:36:35 PM
You're sounding like a complainer. Just coz someone else did something wrong and got away with it doesnt mean that you should lower your standards or lose ur principles

cvz 11/28/2008 2:38:59 PM
Mr. Jackson, are you sure you arent just feeling a little threatended by a little competition?

Eduan 11/28/2008 2:39:11 PM
Well, if you are not going to get caught, go ahead, do it! You have yourself a customer already!

Chicken 11/28/2008 2:41:06 PM
Dear Lolly I cannot wait to have all my eggs in one basket at anyone of your special places. Do not protest but join in and supply what we want. Regards Judge X

chris 11/28/2008 2:42:21 PM
Phillips, Jackson, you both feed from the same trough. Scum is scum, legal or otherwise. As the saying goes - you are like two peas in a pod. But then you are not forcing anyone to buy - let the customer decide.

cvz 11/28/2008 2:42:28 PM
Mr. Jackson, are you sure this outburst of yours isnt about feeling a little threatended? You are now realizing that you will be losing a lot of business to the Ranch!

Steph 11/28/2008 2:42:35 PM
Shame Eric, can't you get it on your own?

Dutchman 11/28/2008 2:44:41 PM
Lolly get a real life.

Nigel 11/28/2008 2:48:36 PM
You couldn't have said it more....straight to the point.it seems you can get away with anything in a modern day South Africa.

aerdna 11/28/2008 2:49:54 PM
For the ones of you who say this is sour grapes are probably working your ass off for a low wage every month. This is big money that we are talking about. Not a small business. Catch a wake up!!!!!!!

Daft Peeps 11/28/2008 2:54:13 PM
Haha...the ladies saying its immoral...blah blah blah!! and then blaming the guys (either for going to look or for hosting a strip show)...Surely the females doing the stripping should not escape your condemming, judgement and prejudice!!! Hypocrits!!

Nicole 11/28/2008 2:55:40 PM
The problem with it is the poor wife of the sod that goes to places like that sleeps with the sluts at the ranch/teasers because her husband brings home whatever she might have, only she doesn't have a say in the matter. This is how aids etc spreads IDIOTS! Get a grip you poor depraved people.

Ginger 11/28/2008 2:59:14 PM

JohannC 11/28/2008 3:11:04 PM
I can vouch that your estabishment next to Cresta Mall is NOT so "clean" as you would like it to be. I asked for and received a cell number from one of your ladies and made good on the "action" twise already. Catch a wake up.

Win 11/28/2008 3:18:09 PM
That all the men that shot Lolly down are the one's that give him the most business and at Teazers over the weekend. But if the woman want to go work for Teazers then the public shouldn't shoot him down when they want the job. So why brand him a doos? Its not be the most respectable job for a woman but I bet she's not complaining when she recieves her paycheck! And neither are the guys going there!!!

Steve 11/28/2008 3:18:52 PM
Well if they open Titty Twister I'll be there. Fond memories man and great times. Teazers limp dick compared to what Andrew had...........

Eduan 11/28/2008 3:19:29 PM
taking the moral high ground... Hush!!!! Teazers Rocks!

GT 11/28/2008 3:41:54 PM
The one is as pathetic as the other one.

Vanessa 11/28/2008 3:44:31 PM
For someone who has as much as you do without giving anything back to humanity except for sleaze... Your girls are more than willing to go the extra mile for a small fee... Dont pretend that you dont know about it.

spygirl 11/28/2008 3:46:12 PM
I use to work at Teazers a few years back.I have seen all forms of illegal activities.Whether it's Lolly himself or him simply turning a blind eye to his surroundings (whilst profitting from it). Fact is, Mr Andrew Phillips has always been the nr 1 competition to Teazers enterprizes. The lenghts to which these two kingpins will go for money is beyond bizarre. And lets not forget: best method of advertising is controversy and getting the public involved.Id rather watch porn in the safety of my hous.

Zee 11/28/2008 3:49:24 PM
Law is definitely not what it should be. And for all those on the supposed moral high ground should hold there comments because its obvious they don't know how to stick to the issue at hand and leave out the emotions. Competition my ...... With the Ranch in existence and fully operational Teazers still managed to grow during that time... So shhhhh...

jackey 11/28/2008 4:27:34 PM
Get a nice lapdance with one of your Ukraineian exports than I might go with you on this one...

Karen 11/28/2008 4:27:53 PM
The question is not about brothels and all that, that is just incidental to the actual question which is why is the law applicable to some people but not to others. Get over the fact that the business is pandering to the man. Its actually the men that should be having a good old giggle at themselves because they need this type of business, as somebody said supply and demand.

Good Charlie 11/28/2008 4:33:55 PM
I agree with you, old chap. Although admittedly there are more savory ways of making money, I think that no one should get away with breaking the law.
