ANC 'missing the point'

by Sefu Sekgala
2010-02-08 09:30

The ANC of Cyril Ramaphosa, Mathews Phosa, Tokyo Sexwale, Trevor Manuel, Kgalema Motlanthe, Gwede Mantashe, Jacob Zuma is missing the point completely.

This ANC is more concerned about patronage and loyalty, than the well-being of our country. The current ANC promotes an individual above principles and values.

I know most people's fingerers are pointed at Jacob Zuma, but Zuma is not a problem because Zuma is not a system, a movement or party. Zuma is an individual. However, Zuma is promoted and protected by the liberation movement. JZ has the protection of struggle heroes that are highly respected by the community and those are Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Cyril Ramaphosa, etc. Their silence is telling.

Until we get ANC right, or until we remove ANC from government, these shenanigans will continue.

The current leadership of ANC in totality cares nothing about the country. They have no vision for the country, but they do have a vision for ANC, "to govern until Jesus come". That is all they are concerned about.

ANC would rather protect an individual over the wellbeing of our country, merely because that individual holds the key for them to loot the government.

While some of us cry for exemplary leadership, ANC is crying for an obedient leader who would not stop them from looting the state.

The people of South Africa use to be very proud of their country regardless of colour during the Madiba time, now, the only people who are proud of this country are ANC loyalists.

Our kids are being fed JUNK, not from the media, but from the president himself. And this behaviour is condoned by ANC. ANC presented JZ as presidential candidate to South Africans knowing very well that he is sexually and financially reckless.

This then brings me to a conclusion that ANC has failed dismally as a governing party.

All our gains since 1994 are waning.

The Malemas of this world are only concerned about the nationalisation of the mines, not for the transference of the wealth to the people, but for self enrichment. For supporting Zuma, they hope he will give them green light. ANC of today is characterized by greed and hanger for power.

Never has a truer word been spoken. You, Sefu, are my brother. I just hope that when the next election comes along that you aren't also a die-hard loyalist but will use your vote to vote for a party that has the country's interests at heart.

THE MAN 2/8/2010 9:36:48 AM
Sefu you and everyone else write these usless articles about the ANC is if the ANC is running the country, so let me remind you that the ANC is not running the country "The Alliance" which comprises of the ANC,Cosatu etc are now running the country and it will always be like this from now on the ANC will never again run the country on its own.Now you are correct the Alliance memebers you mention aobe like manual and sexwale are maybe getting out of line but rest assured the alliance is still doing a great job in government and members of the alliance who misbehave will simply be reeled in and brought to book just as comrade Mbeki was so leave the politics to the politicians and you lot focus on your tele sales jobs and I.T jobs as i am sure your own companies lack good serice delivery

Cape Town 2/8/2010 9:39:24 AM
Been saying this for ages. Thanks for sharing the wisdom, Sefu Sekgala. Unity in the ranks is all that counts for them. Dissident views are 'unpatriotic', 'divisive', etc. Unity means being able to cover up, to protect each other, to conceal. It is profoundly unhealthy. Zuma spoke at Paarl yesterday and he did the same thing, calling for the ANC in the W Cape to unify. Always back to the same point, and no real progress, but behind the scenes the ANC leadership is milking everybody. The sickness is becoming more and more manifest. I pray that the average voter will stop swallowing the cheap rhetoric about the need for unity and use their heads when voting. There are many kinds of unity, and good kinds, that bring results, and the ANC's version is not good, is a smokescreen.

Juan - DUH! 2/8/2010 9:39:58 AM
Zuma and his troop can do whatever they want. They KNOW their own people are stupid enough to vote for them again.

Tebza Ngwana 2/8/2010 9:41:38 AM
The time to recall JZ is now

Musa@author 2/8/2010 9:43:18 AM
Hey wena. The ANC gave you freedom. Who are you to question what they do!!!

Anon1 @ Sefu 2/8/2010 9:46:32 AM
Well said, except for the statement that Winnie is well respected, she is a criminal, no role model there I'm afraid! Fact is, Zuma is the best the ANC has to offer, that is why the ANC appointed him as leader, it is truly a sorry state of affairs!

Spiderman 2/8/2010 9:46:32 AM
The anc "died" with the retirement of Madiba. It is now nothing more than a circus!

Show me ONE initiative by the anc which actually WORKED for the citizens of this country!

It appears to me that they will vote for the least examplary so that they do not need to increase any standards, but rather deteriorate the system and infra-structure!

IandI@author 2/8/2010 9:48:09 AM
It's called "cadre deployment".i.e put yoyr chom in charge and all the tenders will flow your way, my cousin. The pre- 199 ANC is dead, what is left is a bunch of moneygrabbing,t*tty sucking, corrupt potholes.

Hmmm@Sefu 2/8/2010 9:50:00 AM
Sefu, you are so right, unfortunately you will be called names, told to imigrate by the ANC loyalists... I particulary agree with the statement, "All our gains since 94 are waning". Absolut power corrupts absolutely is typical of the current ANC.

Keleli 2/8/2010 9:50:37 AM
This is a manifestation of the real reason behing the appointment of Zuma as president. Clearly Thabo Mbeki was the direct opposite. During his teneur these guys could do as they please. They found words to descredit him in the face of the public. South Africans are reaping what they sow. Surely Thabo Mbeki had a point when he did not Zuma's presidency.

Glyn 2/8/2010 9:51:29 AM
I agree 100% with Safu! Please forward a copy of this page to all known ANC email addresses.

Cynical@Spiderman 2/8/2010 9:56:57 AM
"Show me ONE initiative by the anc which actually WORKED for the citizens of this country!" Come on Spiderman, you know full well that the ANC built thousands of houses for the poor over the past 15 years....and a handful of them are still standing even today. Haaaaaa ha ha ha ha

trying to still be positive 2/8/2010 9:59:06 AM
Sefu you have just hit the nail on the head and I couldn't agree with you more on this one , I do how ever believe there are a lot of other problems aswell .Why has everything gone backwards eg. police , hospitals ,saa eskom etc. etc etc. and the list goes on .I am a white South Africa and quite francly couldn,t give a sh@#%*) ! who leads us but please "lead us" and so far the ANC has not done so !!!!!!!! it is time for change and please don't tell me building one or two house is all the anc has done since DEMOCROCY .....

Zolile 2/8/2010 9:59:15 AM
It is all Mbeki's fault. They must investigate and imprison that pipe smoking schemer. I am sure he is behind Zuma's persecution even now

Sean 2/8/2010 10:01:43 AM
ignorance is bliss.from un uneducated leader of the country to a woodwork failure leading the youth movement, can we expect any better? the liberation struggle is over. the masses need to remember that. the struggle now is for competent leadership...in every government structure.but, i suspect, keeping education on the back burners will ensure that the anc will rule over an illiterate nation until Jesus comes.

Jordan 2/8/2010 10:04:44 AM
Hi Sefu, like your article but don't like Winnie Madikizela-Mandela bit. Hope ANC has someone better to elevate to President soon.

@THE MAN & Musa - Please stop hitting the snooze button...

Raymond 2/8/2010 10:05:44 AM
Sefu, with words like these you will be put on a dossier for insurgents.... and the rest follows

sans 2/8/2010 10:06:10 AM
Zuma to do the right, step down

Jack 2/8/2010 10:06:46 AM
Musa especially & The Man highlight the current problem, the attitude of let them do what they do because they supposedly gave them freedom.

Freedom to be robbed, directly and indirectly by the ANC - come on guys open your eyes.
This article is the truest statement written yet on the current remnants of the once-proud ANC.

I agree, just as the NP was shut down after FW, the ANC should have been shut down after Madiba.

what is left now is a sad corrupt legacy that will do this country no future favours - its all personal glory and fortune, the people are long forgotten and will be bought with t-shirts and food parcels in the next election!

Themba Thwala @Zolile 2/8/2010 10:06:55 AM
If you are not creeping up behinds you are making the most ridiculous of statements. It's time to get a brain scan

Morgan 2/8/2010 10:07:53 AM
@ Sefu - Thank you and thank you again. We need more people like you to realize and see the true colours of the ANC. Their lies and deceit to the nation will bring them down in an ugly way. I just hope and pray that the innocent people of S.A. wont be the one to suffer the most because of their wrong doings.....

MikeF 2/8/2010 10:08:19 AM
Our President is always confusing issues.

When he got married the first time he understood the priest as saying

4 better and 4 worse.

So he is out to get married to 8 wives.

And then, since he is now the father of the nation,
He is also changing UMKHONTO WESIZWE into UMTHONDO WESIZWE

Morgan 2/8/2010 10:10:31 AM
@ Musa - Sefu has his right to freedom of speach regardless of what colour he is. Does not mean because he is a black man that he has to agree with the ANC....He has his rights just as you have yours...get over it

all about power 2/8/2010 10:10:45 AM
I dont think there is a real acceptance of the notion of opposition , ie in the whole system. While the opposition is relatively small it can be tolerated.I think that a democracy that really puts the people above the civil servant ( a true democracy that can hold leaders accountabe rather than untouchable ) is seen more as Eurocentric, and thus anything that is Eurocentric in origin is somehow unafrican a product of the imperialist.I got the strong sense of that reading the book 'African Renaissance' Truly serving the people means doing so in humility, where accountability to the people is paramount.Whatever the case, we live in a modern world which for better or worse is becoming more individualistic, rather than to group allegiance, people increasingly are thinking independantly. One cannot escape from the fact that in order to build a better future in this country, we have to adopt what is good for the prospects of a better life for all South Africans as a way of securing our future, even if it means letting go of old ways of doing things.

Petrus 2/8/2010 10:10:53 AM
Once the ANC is remove democracy have started. Then our peoples can have hope.

As to JZ, consider the following conversation at a meeting of world leaders:
"Is JZ coming as well?"
"yes, I am afraid so"
"Well, we better leave our wives and daughters at home then. Can we also arrange unique locks on the doors of the hotel please!"

JC 2/8/2010 10:11:17 AM
So true, if only more people would realize this and vote this cancer out of our government.

Glock 2/8/2010 10:13:00 AM
All I can say to the anc supporters is you get what you vote for. The day SA is down and out you will be blamed no one ells. And you tought you seffered under apartheid ? You aint seen nothing yet. Look any where in the world how african leadership worked for the people!

freedumb @ Musa 2/8/2010 10:13:26 AM
They gave us freedom, so that gives them the right to Pillage the government and the people.

GVA 2/8/2010 10:16:11 AM
Sefu you are 100% correct in what you say. The longer they stay in power the more downhill we go as a country. As for Zuma and Malema they are an embarrassment to all South Africans! I think whites now realize more than ever that De Klerk sold us out.Everyday in the news there is a report of a another farmer been killed, this is war been disguised as crime (kill the farmer kill the boer)Slowly but surely it is happening. My question is when do we say enough is enough?

Undertaker 2/8/2010 10:16:28 AM
Bring the old ANC back were they fought for the Individual and not for money or power etc. The visions of the ANC has been blinded by the power hungry inviduals within and not the white man or some evil spirit

Maurice 2/8/2010 10:21:25 AM
Sefu you're the man...We all know that JZ was brought about in order to do as they wish. This is only the president of a country who is told what to do in every spheres and can't question their instructions coz he is aware that he's there by 2000+ polokwane votes, not by people's wish. The top ANC bras you mentioned are no longer into concern with what they stood for prior 1994 but more focust on how their multi-million rands businesses survives.God bless SA.

Cynical@Glock 2/8/2010 10:22:12 AM
Yes you get what you vote for and I bet you next year all those dumb blind sheep will vote ANC again in the municipal elections. And 5 minutes later they'll be protesting aginst poor service delivery, trashing the streets, burning their own clinics, schools etc. And I'll be laughing like a hyena and saying "I told you so...". Haaaa ha ha ha

Thobi 2/8/2010 10:23:33 AM
To all the dreamers out there - forget it! The ANC will NEVER be beaten on the polls, no matter how much rubbish you write. If Zuma is recalled, it will NOT be because of your columns. It must hurt you to know that. Instead of strengthning the 100 different parties white people have started (and failed to float), you gunning at the one party powerful enough to make the changes. Why don't you stop about the ANC and tell us what your 23-member party will do, for a change, for heaven's sake!

To the lot of you who are just wagging their tongues for no reason. I am Black and not proudly South African. Before the apartheit era life life used to be all that. Today we have corruption left right and centre, we have foreigners commiting hedious crimes and drug lords perpertuating our kids to sell drugs. This stupid black government has spoiled everything from free clinics, free education, free electricity to free houses. Evrything is for free. I also want to vacate SA to go leave abroad.

Reader 2/8/2010 10:30:08 AM
Its refreshing to read letters like this. Let the people know that its not a race concern anymore but a party concern

Zolile the idiot 2/8/2010 10:30:22 AM
Zolile has spoken worse than an idiot would. Would you stop blaming Mbeki and concentrate on how the problem (that is Zuma) can be solved? Its sad to say but most people still vote for ANC could they don't see a strong opposition. What happened to COPE? DA is led by individuals with grudges...We need someone who cares about the citizens and not only their own people. And Yes, this colour is still an issue.

@ musa 2/8/2010 10:32:48 AM
Open your mind. It is not this ANC who gave us freedom - it was ordinary people who lived in the blood stained streets of the townships that kept hope alive through mass action - not the exiles who now take everything for themselves. No-one cares about the unsung heroes of the struggle.

Dave Robbins 2/8/2010 10:34:31 AM
Sorry that I am harping on the same old point again but, as long as the electorate do not have a constituency system (i.e. they elect a MP to parliament in their area, but rather have party lists, the system will always be open to abuse. Our current system means that the people in power are more interested in where they are going to be on the next party list rather than seeing if they are following the voters wishes. Sad, really.

Cleo 2/8/2010 10:35:30 AM
The ANC that fought for freedom is not the same ANC of today. The current lot are only interested in what they can get for themselves; what about all the other folk who fought, and are still fighting, on the ground? Circumstances have changed very little for them. They have their freedom, but very little else, including dignity.

Maria 2/8/2010 10:36:21 AM
Thank heavens for JZ's roaming eye - maybe now people's eyes will be opened to the joke the "Alliance" has become. Politicians are by nature money and power-hungry, but elsewhere they at least try to APPEAR to be decent civil servants. Not here, because the ANC is so arrogantly convinced they'll never ever be dethroned. Go ask the NP veterans how certain they were apartheid would never end, nor would their boozing and philandering on the state's account? And where are these guys now?

Wayne 2/8/2010 10:37:27 AM
Sefu it is great to see that there are still people out there not blinded by detrimental loyalty! Sadly the ANC has lost the plot and the efforts of great people like Madiba and Desmond Tutu and many who have sacrificed their lives has been in vain! Greed has taken over and our leaders are no longer "public servants" but rather a bunch of self-centred thugs who think they can do as they please! I only wish that the Madiba's of this world would stand up and make themselves heard for the good of every South African!

Gpurscreepers 2/8/2010 10:40:55 AM
Amazing, the amount of people who will blindly support these scumbags to the death out of some kind of twisted sense of loyalty.

The ANC are so far down the shitter that the fanboys have to resort to, "like it or leave" to defend these criminals. And I call them that because the few who aren't actual criminals are so incompetent it is a crime.

Well, you got what you voted for. The rest of us (and the world) are laughing at you all the way to the bottom on this sinking ship.

Point Blank 2/8/2010 10:45:00 AM
When you have a youth league demanding that their policy of nationalisation must be accepted or they will withdraw support for cetain ministers is certainly an alarm bell to the path that this country could stumble on. To threaten opposition in any form is the complete destruction of freedom in this country, freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom in it's totality. It starts with a simple "... or else!" but in the same sentence say it should be open to debate; it's laughable.

Zolile 2/8/2010 10:45:23 AM
@ThembaThwala Easy my brother take it easy. I said that in a sarcastic tone. Remember everyhthing that went wrong for Zuma was Mbeki's fault. So I am just saying I wonder how long until we hear that old conspiracy theory again

If the ANC had just one or two people with your sense, they would have been better off. The country will bleed to death if they are not removed from power and then those who are in exile will come back and reclaim it. It sounds bad, but that's reality.

the humble 2/8/2010 11:03:19 AM
the anc has given us freedom true freedom to choose to live in a free society a society that is morally and culturally enriched a freedom of hard earned rights and civil liberties .the freedom of human dignity and gender equality.freedom to respect our mothers and sisters for 16 days -then to what party does zuma belong

Wise old owl 2/8/2010 11:04:25 AM

Jas @ Musa 2/8/2010 11:10:47 AM
Mugabe also gave his people freedom. They eventually woke up and realised that just because he shared their skin colour and was a freedom fighter (another mans terrorist perhaps?) didn't mean he had their interests at heart. So they voted him out of power. But by that stage it was too late. He just stayed and gave their vote the finger. The question is, are you willing to take that chance on the current government? If you are, then you also need to be prepared for your children and grandchildren to suffer and starve. Vote with your head, not with your false ideals that are being fed by propaganda from Malema and co.

Lus 2/8/2010 11:14:37 AM

For some reason I do not believe that even the ANC saw ZUMA as the right man to deliver but he was rather a right man to get votes! Which is what the ANC is mostly concerned with!It is common knowledge and a sad thing that we have a long way to go in terms of the level of our education,awareness,etc.., It is more SAD when what we suppose to be our leaders use that against us!At the same time it is this SAD state of affairs that should wake us up from complacency that we seem to have slipped into!

Wow!!! You have summed up the feelings of millions of NON-ANC supporters.
If the mines were nationalized, then what? Who gets a share? once the poverty line is lifed, prices will balloon afer....so nobody will be better off. Foreign investment will leave RSA and the RAND will fall to ZIM $ specs.

Gollum 2/8/2010 11:26:24 AM
Well put Sefu! Thing is, Zuma’s strings are pulled by the alliance and he makes his blunders on top of that. Replacing JZ will not solve the problem, because the next pres will also have to dance to the alliance’s tunes. That’s why Mbeki was so suddenly removed and Motlante was too honest and modest for such a circus.

The ANC failed dismally. Now JZ apologises and in another article last night he made it clear that it is about the anc and they must love each other as comrades. What about the non-comrades in the country that he is supposed to lead? If he was an honourable man, he would step down from his position.

Now they call for forgiveness, wow, which solves problems instantly. When there is an apology, it means you don’t do it again. Forgive, its fine, but what about the changes going along with it. Calling for JZ to step down will not solve anything. We need governmental change on a great scale. To put Mandella in the same picture is irrelevant, because what the alliance does is contrary to his ideals. BTW, a rainbow nation is exactly that, a rainbow, and intangible illusion that cannot be touched and just a puff of false hope. The alliance does not have the country/nation at heart, but serve to maintain the gravy train and their own interests only. Change SA by replacing the current regime.

Witseun 2/8/2010 11:30:13 AM
The only way forward for SA is to have the current alliance unbundled. The "true" ANC must form an alliance with the DA and the rest will form some labour/ socialist orientated opposition. I have nothing against the policies of the ANC and there are quality people amongst the ANC ranks (Gordhan, Manuel, Ramaphosa, Sexwale, etc.) but its alliance members are crooked and only there to line their pockets. We need a progressive organisation that will can actually be held accountable. It is the only way forward.

what is good about our country is that people in south africa unlike some countries can freely withuot any fear express their views and openion, what the writer is saying about the current ANC leadership is,in his openion and he is entitle to his it as much as the majority of people who voted for their movement (ANC) has their reasons why they do so,it will totaly be wrong to say that the writer is wrong and to also say that the current ANC leadership is there by mistake, a fact is ANC as the ruling party it will always be on the news and it is also a fact that the current ANC leadership has been democratically elected in a fully constituted congress of the ANC AT polokwane in 2007.i know that some of us may not like them but fact is they are crrently our leaders,us is to give our undivided support and criticise them ,when we feel like they are not doing enough to privide service delivery, fighting unemployment and porverty to our people which is are very important mandate given to the ANC by the majority of our people who voted in 2009 elections.viva freedom of expression viva media freedom and viva south africans.

Freedom of speech, etc., will not put food on the table, keep the criminals away or give you lasting happiness. Only sensible actions based on true freedom can accomplish that. Mugabe gave them freedom, now they are running for their lives and dying of hunger. You claim to be free – free from what?

Maybe it s time you catch a wake up !

Me @ Musa 2/8/2010 12:04:23 PM
Musa, you ignorant a hole. The reason that we fought for democracy was so that we as a people had the right to choose our government (Choose being the operative word). Just because they were the leading, but not the only, liberation movement, does not give them the right to do as they please.

Go and find out what liberation and democracy is all about. I just hope that the masses realise that these so called liberation heroes are not the idealist that they started out as, but have been overtaken by power and love for money.

Mandela was also once referred to as a terrorist by those who now claim him. Winnie remains a heroin of the struggle, a mother of the nation. Start by saying something about the apartheid monsters who are happily retired and lazying around their farms even thought they committed crimes against humanity and only had Prime Evil taking the fall.

BK 2/8/2010 12:32:58 PM
Where's those ANC members those re-called Thabo let they do the same by recalling him.

LM 2/8/2010 12:38:44 PM
I am just relieved that JZ has not implemented bad policies like T-bone did. On the other hand, I am not aware of any major decisions or policies made by the current government. The biggest threat to our country is Julius Malema. Look at African history. He is the loud mouth with angry rhetoric which potentially becomes the next dictator. Read THE STATE OF AFRICA. There have been many Malemas in the history of this continent. And it all ends up in the same mess.

Hope 2/8/2010 12:41:38 PM
Well said, we need more people like you. I haven't given up hope. The struggle is far from over...

Terryt 2/8/2010 12:47:19 PM
Sefu...you are so right. When the good, moral people of this country stand together and demand the government we deserve, we will see change. This is not about the colour of that government, its about the quality. I, as a white, am quite happy to be ruled by anyone...as long as they are working for the good of the COUNTRY and are moral and upright. There are plenty of black people like that but not enough in the ANC it seems. We need this to change, SOON before our country is beyond help.

ChrisB 2/8/2010 12:50:41 PM
@Ngwako "Heroin of the Nation" is the perfect description of Mandela. I suggest you pick up a Dictionary and study it, as I think the irony of your statement is currently eluding you.

SimonP@Ng Whako 2/8/2010 12:53:12 PM
Yes Mandela was referred to as terrorist. Winnie was convicted of fraud after the ANC gained power, she stole money from ANC supporters. Why can you not admit that a party that promotes criminals is not good for SA.

Say what... 2/8/2010 12:54:00 PM
Even the axis of evil must be getting fed-up with shower head by now.

HJ 2/8/2010 12:54:57 PM
I think its time that we all unite and do the right thing, not for the country but for our future generation!

JennyN 2/8/2010 12:58:43 PM
Sefu, it is so good read that someone actually is aware of what's going on. The past was not a happy time and many people suffered terribly. The ruling party is dragging country into the third world, and this pays little respect to the memory of those people. It also does nothing for the people who are suffering because of the comrades' insatiable greed, selfishiness and total disregard for their very own people.

Shrek 2/8/2010 1:00:55 PM
@ Thobi - you go you good thing and support the ANC. Just tell those moaners in Balfour to stop complaining about service delivery. Thats all they do, moan about service delivery...what is wrong with those brothers and sisters.

Ted101 2/8/2010 1:00:59 PM
Oh dear....I wonder what those people are thinking now that votes "Yes" back in 1994?Well this behaviour was obvious and will continue for decades to come,in fact if anything the situation and corruption will intensify.I certainly did not vote "Yes" back then.So those that did must embrace this scenario now.... as this is what you wanted.Yes...make sense?

And I would also like to point out that Zuma is an Angel in comparision to "Great Madiba".Did you know that he(Mandela) went around bombing and killing people with his terrorist orginisation(ANC)back then. The media does not advertise that too much I see ,in fact never do.Do some research and you can veriy that information.

Ngwako @SiMoron Pee and ChrisB 2/8/2010 1:03:35 PM
In July 2004, an appeal judge of the Pretoria High Court ruled that "the crimes were not committed for personal gain". The judge overturned the conviction for theft, but upheld the one for fraud, handing her a suspended sentence.

According to the formerly oppressed, she is and will always be a heroinE. So ChrisB, whatever your likes think of her is immaterial. We LOVER HER! Whatever she did pales in comparison to the atrocities committed by your apartheid villains who are now happily enjoying their twighlight and leaving Prime Evil to stew alone in jail when all he did was carry out their orders

simon 2/8/2010 1:05:14 PM
..who gives a stuff.

DALE STEYN FOR PRESIDENT!

arfie 2/8/2010 1:10:40 PM
Well said Sefu, I just wish there were more enlightend people like you. I love our country I just don't like where it is currently going.. to hell with Mercury (winged messenger) doing the flying!

Tebza Ngwana @Ted101 2/8/2010 1:16:07 PM
It does not matter what Madiba did okay? The WORLD LOVES HIM. Only you and Eugene Terreblanche hate him. But he does not even know you exist, which means that your hatred is like water off a duck's feathers

CTheB 2/8/2010 1:19:52 PM
@Ngwako - Mandela wasn't just referred to as a terrorist, he was one. However, he chose to renounce that to move the country forward. And if Winnie Mandela is the mother of the nation then she has child abuse issues to answer for.

Frank II 2/8/2010 1:24:05 PM
What did you expect from a liberation movement? Utopia? A well-run efficient government? HA! HA! Good luck. You had it coming!

mad hatter 2/8/2010 1:28:24 PM
This is the result of leadership being designated to people based on it being their turn now rather than being the right man for the job and a true leader . We must vote not only for a party but also for a president to prevent the manipulation of presidential incumbents and position jocking we saw at polokwane . It really is embarrassing .

Rainbow Nation 2/8/2010 1:29:24 PM
I agree completely with the article above and agree that the ANC has forgotten what Mandela fought for. Money and greed has taken over, while there are millions of people suffering out there. ANC - catch a wake up and see what you are doing to our country.

Regarding JZ, if were a country of ZULUS only then by all means go ahead and have 300 wife’s, but we live in a rainbow nation with multiple races and cultures and our leader should respect all cultures and races, which is not happening.

And to the Malema era who keeps on bringing apartheid into the picture... lets put the past behind us and look to the future. The more we stay in the past and talking about what happened, the more people will get angry and South Africa will fall. Let’s all look to the future and help Make South Africa a better place FOR ALL and our kids.

Kindergarten Cop 2/8/2010 1:32:58 PM
Let's see ... we have the Kindergarten Heavies "running" (I use the term loosely) the country. Then we have the Kindergarten Philosophers ("THE MAN" and others) rabbiting on about how "the Alliance" reigns and ever shall do so ...

I do realise that the piteous comments made by the Kindergarten Contingent quite likely do not represent all is SA ... but, my goodness, you lot do make complete t1ts of yourselves.

It's so sad, really ... SA is a beautiful and richly textured country. Spoiled by the Kindergarten.

@ngwako 2/8/2010 1:44:23 PM
And what about Stompie? Fraud is Fraud buddy! Its a crime, its a crime! Now repeat 10 times and hopefully you will get the message. Cele said that a friend of a criminal is a criminal. Winnie is a criminal, so I suppose all her comrade friends are criminals too?

@Ng whako 2/8/2010 1:48:27 PM
So you agree she is a convicted fraudster. You admire a criminal, her crimes had nothing to do with apartheid she is scum plain and simple.

Bobbu 2/8/2010 1:55:37 PM
Then who must we vote for after Zuma, I think Helen Zille will the best candidate for Presidential Position.

cp 2/8/2010 1:57:27 PM
well said and so true....sad though

Ngwako @CTheB 2/8/2010 2:03:13 PM
The point that I am making and that I want you to get in your dandruff laden head is that you can call Winnie any names you like.
But that won't change anything because we love her.

Call Madiba anything too you'll be no different from farting against the thunderous applaud he evokes wherever he goes.

Get your behind up in gear now. There is no chance in hell of Winnie answering to you, your grandma or anyone else for that matter

Gash 2/8/2010 2:11:05 PM
@musa. Ja the ANC gave us freedom but they no nothing about running a country, the must f*k off and let people who know how to run a country take over.

Chris 2/8/2010 2:16:03 PM
Well said, this is the same problem Zimbabwe has, that's why a tyrant like Mugabe kept being voted into power even though the quality of life was failing, people should forget the 'romance' of the struggle and come to terms of how a country should be run and exist.

Dennis Cape Town 2/8/2010 2:26:05 PM
ZANU-PF is a good example of what will happen if the ANC continues on its path of patronage and self entitlement

KoosPetoors 2/8/2010 2:36:20 PM
Well spoken! if the ANC wants to be politically and demographically correct, we should had a young(er), hip and savvy cabinet and leadership, as well as a president that is sensitive to local and international trends. I have many black friends and colleagues, and although not always outspoken, there is a feeling that the old guard has done their time and need to be replaced by capable minds of the new generation. Please keep speaking up - SA needs people like you !

Insult to injury! 2/8/2010 2:44:14 PM
Did you know that President Jacob Zuma's 20 children were entitled to six domestic flights a year at the taxpayers' expense?

fisher 2/8/2010 2:49:51 PM
@ Ngwako - it seems like you're unable to answer any questions directed at you.

makes you wonder.. 2/8/2010 3:12:05 PM
So...Up till 10 this morning the headlines were saying that the ANC supports Zuma and accepts his apology. Then the US announces that it is freezing HIV spending on african countries... a few minutes later another headline reads "zuma becoming a liability"... It's amazing what a lack of funding does to someones opinion.

Chimurenga 2/8/2010 3:24:34 PM
The ANC started missing the point the day Mandela was "forced" into retirement by Dr. Denial himself, the decline was there for all to see

@ TED101 2/8/2010 3:29:21 PM
Ted Bundy, I can see you are a redneck moron. If you wanna be taken seriously, at least get your dates right, mkey? Or go and play a banjo in the forest somewhere.

Stryker 2/8/2010 3:37:18 PM
Sorry people but the more I see from the ANC and partners the more of a joke you become. Im afraid I am starting to believe that the only way African states will ever be worth anything is if they are indeed colonised. Would it make any difference to the majority of poor people who get treated like the sheep they are in any event?

CTheB 2/8/2010 3:44:08 PM
By the way, Ngwako, there were plenty of atrocities carried out by those loyal to the ANC, people loyal to the masters who're now happily enjoying living high on the hog on the back of the people they claimed to want to free.

Ngwako @CTheB 2/8/2010 3:51:30 PM
I can understand your frustration as a former apartheid foot-soldier who spent his teen fighting "rooi gevaar" only to see your leaders enter into negotiations and eventually lose power at the polls.

Ours was a just cause: a struggle against a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY. We had the backing of the world in the United Nations. So eat your heart out poor former apartheid footsoldier because you spent your teens defending an evil system which when one looks back, was all in vain now that the very same "terrorist" you were indoctrinated to fight against are making laws for you.

Mthimbana @Stryker 2/8/2010 4:00:32 PM
Wake up dude, you are dreaming

Jas @ ngwako 2/8/2010 4:48:53 PM
Are you for real? Or are you just plain stupid? I'm suspecting it's the latter, because with role models like Winnie and Jay Zee, all I can think is that the saying "stupid is as stupid does" applies perfectly to you.

CTheB 2/8/2010 5:22:17 PM
@Ngwako - aah, yes, fighting a just cause justifies murdering civilians, of course.

ha ha 2/8/2010 5:54:58 PM
The whole point is that the ANS have never had a point!

Wanda 2/8/2010 7:50:34 PM
Just because the ANC liberated you - does not mean they own your soul. Now you need liberation from the ANC and their greedy self enrichment. Sefu - you are a wise man.

Mizzes YT 2/8/2010 8:24:24 PM
For all this freedom which takes out of every tax payers pocket for J Z and his love of wives and children, he should be banned for still living in the dark ages under the sycamore tree, if he had any decency he wouldn't be having so many "wives" with his past habits we all know of, maybe he has a good shower installations guy on hand for each of his wives own personal bathrooms. Its disgusting, immoral and not Christian like. He needs to get out of government for setting such a Neanderthal frame of mind. If we want to move forward we cannot live in the past ways either, it has to change for better, not worse, which everyone knows deep down it really has gone down the tubes.

OverIt 2/8/2010 8:46:16 PM
I cannot believe that some of you actually think people in RSA will vote for someone else besides the ANC. Did the ANC not win by the biggest margin in the last elections???

Its honourable that some people think there will be change, really, but its not going to happen. Either accept (nothing wrong with that) or try your hand in a new country.

Aikatharine@Ngwako 2/8/2010 9:35:48 PM
You and your idiotic comments and leaders are the reason that I thank God each day that I wake up in my new country .. far far away for you!!! Your people have ruined Africa .. you can have it!!

Crimes against humanity ... my arse!!!

D.Moerin 2/8/2010 11:50:29 PM
Eish, Sefu, the ANC have caused death and suffering to millions of people, and you call it 'shennanigans'? You are just p...d off because you don't qualify for nepotism status.

SEAN 2/9/2010 12:26:38 AM
@Sefu !! 200% SPOT ON !!!! :))

@ngwako 2/9/2010 1:05:55 AM
...and that's why you will always be a second rate citizen of the WORLD. That foot soldier fought for the safety of his people. What did you fight for??? It seems a BMW and some KFC.

Hermann B 2/9/2010 5:32:47 AM
The ANC dont have a point, they move around in a circle ! And only those within that circle benefits.

fistos 2/9/2010 6:33:29 AM
Madiba said "i have fought against the white dominion and i have fought against the black dominion"....i wish he was 27yrs younger!!!

Sipho 2/9/2010 7:22:08 AM
All the JZ critics, one question: Will you vote ANC again, and why did you in the first place? Now, stop criticising and get to do what you are paid for... else we have to do your work.

Alf 2/9/2010 7:34:19 AM
What's new? They have been missing the point constantly. The state of the country is a good example. Somebody should tell the president in no uncertain terms to stop f.....g around and do the job he is being paid for with taxpayers' money!

Batman 2/9/2010 7:38:52 AM
Truely amazing. Even Kenyans are laughing at Zum-Zum. Am once again truely embarressed

Madiba Rules 2/9/2010 8:02:44 AM
The point moved on when Madiba retired, maybe we should incarcerate all ANC members and release them in 27 years, by than we would see better results. Its workled before

Sampie 2/9/2010 8:31:56 AM
The anc will loss in the next elections.
Hands down!!!That is the point they will miss.

Nolo 2/9/2010 8:42:56 AM
I guess that now all the citizens of this country understand why Cope was formed under the slogan "protecting the constitution and integrity of the country".

The problem is that the Anc has realised how strong it is or how gullible the nation is. Zuma has the power to be elected to the highest office with "rape" and corruption charges, he is either the best politician ever or SA folks are just dump and that's why Apartheid even took so long.

Mfundo again 2/9/2010 8:58:31 AM
...meant to say, we can all unite in our demands of the government, including that of recalling the president, who clearly has a problem with sticking to basic principles, and to what he preaches. It is which is unnecesarily embarassing our country.

Tsietsi Sibiya-Mokau 2/9/2010 9:01:17 AM
True that Sefu,

what is it that the man has done for him to receive such protection and respect from the organisation. Now the expect the nation to blindly agree with that and move on as if nothing wrong is happening.
blinded by loyalty and weak love, if however they were so true to the nation and Mr Zuma; they will harshly call him to order as they did with Mbeki. not every south african is illiterate and people do think!!!

i hope they are not missing that as well!

eleanor 2/9/2010 9:21:17 AM
WHAT WOULD THE REACTION HAVE BEEN HAD A WHITE PERSON WRITTEN THE SELFSAME LETTER?
I listened to a certain local radio station last night and for every white person who said the tings Sefu ha swritten a black man phoned in to put the whitey in his place.
THE PROBLEM OF ALL THOSE SO`CALLED POSITVIES IS: THEY ARE LIVING IN CLOUD CUCKOO LAND AND IN HUGE DENIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

paradise 2/9/2010 9:41:03 AM
south africa is going down the drain since ANC they don't want to face reality when comes to governing the country we needs competent good leadership not a joke. this is a embarrasement to entire world to have president like JZ.

Zooma 2/9/2010 9:44:40 AM
The ANC are using the fear of the past to hold on to power. It is time for the next step in South Africa's future.

boer@ngwako 2/9/2010 9:52:35 AM
Go back a bit further in history and you will realise that the group in SA that bled the most for the country is in fact.... white. Your so called struggle, liberation, and "crimes against humanity" inanities are, was, in comparison, a mere storm in a tin coffee cup.

Sbongile 2/9/2010 10:15:40 AM
I just need to know why does the existing president fail to discipline Malema?? am sure many people are also wondering like me, skeletons maybe?? something we as the law abiding SA citizens should know??

matata 2/9/2010 10:24:53 AM
Zuma is my president, your president, da president of da nation..why??..i voted for him but now he needs to step down..he is not what i thought he was...he is an idiot..now, we blacks are all going to look like idiots because of one mad cow..

Roby 2/9/2010 10:31:27 AM
In as much as the ANC enjoys the overwelming support of the masses, the ruling party accounts to all south Africans and if the leadership of the ruling party thinks that they will enjoy this support forever, they are in for a big wake up call,

Dee 2/9/2010 10:52:25 AM
Absolutely true, you hit the nail on the head.

Everyone is FINALLY realising what an idiot JZ is...

Aleco 2/9/2010 12:10:19 PM
Sefu perhaps we are to start to differentiate between deliverance and freedom, though ANC rule who got wealth of this country in hands? Why there is still high unequal distribution of wealth and finally who refuses to share the wealth of this country.ANC took you out of Egypt that is why today you got freedom of speech writing sophisticated articles to news24,they opened the gate for education for all that is why you are so excellent on you wording. But consider this one who support you on that article? The one witholding the wealth of this counry.WAKE UP!!!

Wilana 2/9/2010 12:26:27 PM
Excellent! Well said... :)

Ngwako @Boer 2/9/2010 12:47:32 PM
You mean go back to the history that has been fabricated? Sorry Boer.

Vee 2/9/2010 12:50:16 PM
I wonder what Madiba thinks of the current state of the government....
It such a pity to see it go to ruins after he fought so hard for it!!!!!!

@Ngwako 2/9/2010 1:33:11 PM
And where is your history written boy? On a cave wall?

scary 2/9/2010 1:54:30 PM
now is the time to worry and be sober minded. Things not resolved have a way of defining futures of countries - more so in our beloved continent.

boer@Aleco 2/9/2010 2:12:37 PM
Actually, the ANC is the entity that stood the most in the way of education, and are still doing so today. Liberation before education, remember. Rings any bells ? A certain section of our populace seems to suffer from selective amnesia.

Mary 2/9/2010 2:16:12 PM
its a pity that some people still at lala land this is all tax payers money

T-man 2/9/2010 2:18:24 PM
Sefu, I wish you were one of the ANC's NEC members and maybe Zuma would have been kicked out long before this. I am black, S African, ethically and morally driven but this is not what our ANC want in their ranks. Zuma always talks about rooting out corruption, HIV/AIDS, poverty, etc but what do they do in action - axactly the oppsite.

boer@Ngwako 2/9/2010 2:21:28 PM
Thanks for letting me know there are Boer war denialists out there. Then again, you got your liberation handed to you on a silver platter. Ours was a tad more expensive...

@ Aleco 2/9/2010 2:31:34 PM
I think the gate is still closed for you! Go and ask Tokyo and co where all the BBEEE tender money has gone, its in the hands of a few elite comrades. The same people are benefitting over and over again, instead of Broad Based distribution that would have empowered a lot more people.

@Ngwako 2/9/2010 2:35:07 PM
I suspect the history that you claim to be fabricated can be confirmed by looking at things like original parliamentary minutes and other official documents for at least three countries. Any good historian will tell you to look at the original source documents. What original source documents can the ANC provide that proves that any history has been fabricated? Very little I imagine.

Raymond 2/9/2010 2:42:56 PM
SEFU-I really admire you for writing this article,it is so true and it is a pity that there are not many more people that can see what you see.I wish we had another thirty million people like you in this country. What a wonderful place it would be to live in.I fail to understand the logic of this government.

Lydia@Aleco 2/9/2010 3:03:58 PM
Hi, ask yourself where all the fatcats like Sexwale, Ramaphosa, Sisulu, Gordhan and their ANC cronies got all their money from which made them millionaires even though they spent 99% of the struggle living well as exiles overseas being supported by the ANC. Ask yourselves how were their children able to attend exclusive schools after the struggle and are still attending same. What about the struggle fighters on the ground who died and were injured and when everthing was over, they did not have a cent given to them and they are still poor. If any one can, please tell me what the fatcats did to earn these millions??

Aleco@lydia 2/9/2010 3:20:26 PM
The money you talking about it is not even 5% of our countries wealth. Before commenting about country`s wealth maybe your are to first look at how much you earn and the opposite doing same job how much he earn. Then multiply it with millions of people under same unbrella, then you will notice the different.

Ngwako @Ngwako 2/9/2010 3:20:29 PM
The ANC, which I don't support anyway, has been changing names to prove that they know your forefathers arrived here, chased us around and eventually dumped us on those deserts called "homelands" and started renaming every little place and river and road as if SA was just an uninhabited island for them to do as they please. What else do you want to know you ignorant little poor and miserable apartheid stepchild

Next Generation 2/9/2010 3:52:30 PM
It's so refreshing to see that someone is actually putting out there and in words, what so many of us are actually thinking. The ANC was such an amazing symbol of hope between 1994 and the years that followed. All of that hope has been turned around and spin-doctored to fool the youth into "believing" that by following the ANC of 2010, means they support the people who faught for their elders freedom. They are being brainwashed and manipulated, and because of their ignorance, they follow Julius and Zuma blindly! I am part of the new generation of youth (born in 1989) and the amount of ignorant youth STILL using the "race, previously disadvantaged" card is ridiculous!! My generation all have the opportunity of free-footed education (most of us having started school after 1994). The fact that people my age still insist on using the "white people had it all" excuse, is absolutely shocking. We all have the CHOICE to make our futures bright. If we are unhappy about the circumstances we are in, we must make choices to change it, and stop making excuses. We must control our own circumstances. We must not allow our circumstances to control us.

@ Aleco 2/9/2010 3:56:59 PM
I did not know we have millions of doctors, engineers, architects under one umbrella. Your argument is flawed and incoherrent.

Sanele 2/9/2010 3:57:33 PM
ANC is failing us.

aleco@next Generation 2/9/2010 4:31:27 PM
I am so impressed and happy to see how my brothers are excellent in writing articles, you are one of them,do you know why you are so wise, because at your age oppression was gone.To understand look at your brothers ageing 35 to 45 it is a misery because of past regime.Thats why we will never stop until people like u understand the impact and what is going on,on the opposite.

boer@Ngwako 2/9/2010 4:35:37 PM
Your view of history is as one sided as your definition of liberation. Homelands were areas surrounding the places where the biggest tribes had there governing centre. You guys left there to come work in the mines, by your own choice, at a time when whites were competing for the same meager jobs at the same meager salary. None of your arguments so far negate the fact that one population group paid a much heftier price for their liberation than the other, point being that you seem to preach your "I'm owed everything" dribble to a group that has a much better understanding of what it means to fight for something than you seem to have.

@Sanele 2/9/2010 4:35:40 PM
Sanele, I second that!!! Four simple words to describe the truth. Also, the ANC of today is definitely not the ANC of 1994. The ANC has been hijacked!

@Next Generation 2/9/2010 4:37:54 PM
Next Gen, fine piece of writing! I agree totally!

Chris D 2/9/2010 7:37:57 PM
Here is the thing. The masses still think the ANC is the answer to their dreams but dont have the insight to understand this ANC is having a party at their expense.

lovin-it 2/9/2010 10:49:04 PM
We should be more worried about the clowns who keep voting in the ANC than the officials running the country. Your average voter sees nothing wrong with what is going on within the ANC, one just needs to read the news on what is happening on a daily basis in this country, rapes, murder, armed robberies etc the latest if you are not happy with your municipality burn down the library and municipality offices, why not the hospitals, schools, power stations and water boards too. This country will sink to the standards and values of the masses while officials scramble to the lifeboats before the ship sinks

Ice@Musa 2/10/2010 12:12:29 AM
Musa, get your facts before making statements, it was not ANC that gave us freedom, it was FW de Klerk. He made the choice to release Mandela, he made the choice to have a free election and Mandela the only true leader of the ANC saw this and made him rule beside him. Its not the colour of people's skin which makes them a good leader but what's in their heart and having the people's best interest at heart. ANC including the president are greedy and think only about themselves. If people don't vote the ANC out, I'm sorry to say that Zimbabwe no 2 here we come. I am a coloured who grew up during the apartheid era, but guess what I remember walking to the shops, playing with the neighbourhood kids, taking public transport, something that my kids will never be able to experience, so yes apartheid was wrong, but our country had less crime.

itireleng 2/10/2010 12:48:16 AM
Zuma, has just proved beyond all doubts that he should not definitely be considered for the coming 2012 anc leadership race.

Sit 2/10/2010 7:57:36 AM
This goes to the " COMRADE MAN" tell us what is the alliance tend to do with president J.Z. It is well understood that he is not alliance but individual. The fact is stand still if the house is full of "whatever " I dont want to write the because at the moment I dont have correct word that I have now will sound as an insult. The point is the community is made out of people if people are respectful we will refer to them as respectful community. Thabo Mbeki was recalled, with nothing but series of bad record J.Z must all step down if the alliance is loyal to party not individual. The person who seemed know nothing is you maybe you are just one of them.

If you listened carefully to FW de klerk speech when releasing Mandela you will understand why we say ANC delivered us from egypt not freedom yet we still fighting for.He was avoiding catastrophe since everything was out of control. He knew we will rule but we won`t have economy in our hands as it is happening right now.Which is the reason why daily news are about individuals and their culture, silent about country`economic transformation.

@THOBI 2/10/2010 8:39:24 AM
Thobi you are like the Zuma Goverment, totally stupid and clueless

Ngwako @Ice 2/10/2010 8:58:12 AM
All that FW did was to finally concede defeat. The sanctions were biting real hard; South African whites were pariah's the world over and could not even play or compete in their favourite rugby or any other sport; the UN was piling the pressure; internal revolt was increasingly becoming uncontrollable and SA was constantly becoming a police state with regulate state of emergencies called to quell the unrests. De Klerk, unlike his predecessor "Die Groot Krokodil" finally woke up from slumber and decided to do the right thing. Whites also said "yes" under the same conditions. Stick your head in the sand all you like though, that won't change the truFF contained here and which is public knowledge

Clive 2/10/2010 9:08:13 AM
Those who criticise Sefu and say the "alliance" is doing a great job set very low standards and haven't a clue as to what democracy is all about. Wake up!

Sydney 2/10/2010 9:42:02 AM
Sefu, where have you been all my life, you could never have said it better. If the ANC cannot take a cue from this message then we against a wall. People think that supporting a wrong to satisfy their own ends will last for ever, they need to rethink or go and have a look at a cemetary. Those people also thought life is going to be foe ever. Everything you do has a shelf life and you definately have to answer for them.Keep up the good work Sefu

ANGER 2/10/2010 10:14:07 AM
ANC has taken over Metrorail wallllaaaa.... like eskom, sabc ect,Metrorail is going down the drain well done Mr Pres

Zee 2/10/2010 10:44:07 AM
As long as the president and his band of thugs are more loyal to their "organisation" than the Republic of South Africa things will continue to go downhill. The ANC is not SA - that is not a democracy, but then again, after Mandela handed over the reigns democracy in this country died. Fantastic article Sefu!!

To everyone 2/10/2010 11:08:07 AM
If Mr.Prez. JZ has at all a concious he would just put his apology with the lines that says he is also resigning. I am not into politics but I think ANC ought to revisit its framework in policies and guidelines which president ought to behave. They must be outlined or explicity clear from ordinary ANC members. How many times JZ appeared in scandals. This is not the first and will not be the last. The ANC must sit him down and persuade him to resign. Anyway what goes around comes around.

Viva Sefu! Viva 2/10/2010 12:07:30 PM
You the man, you are rocking, intelligent, influential. Can you see what mobilisation had you made. Then your next home work what do we do from here, lets act. Be a hero , you have all the support you need, we are all behind you, just bring your brains together we will follow.Do you think JZ should persuaded to step down and other Anc takeover or should he be forced down. If ANC does not want to do this internal, any leading party in the process of ousting him takeover or emergence elections be conducted. People this is democratic country lets talk not fight, shot or kill anyone, just only roud table talks needed.

Zulu king Goodwill and JZ belong in the same room, after all he believes being circumsized will prevent HIV infection. Ignorant, Arrogant, Corrupt morons.

Let's admit, there are weaknesses in the system. The nice thing is that people are free to express their opinions.

Well said Sefu.

blind 2/10/2010 1:47:13 PM
Thobi please explain where has the anc changed this country and given all tehir promises? the only reason why the anc still gets votes is because the poeple are scared into it. communism its called. for eg if they dont protest against something their houses get burnt, they get beaten up.

Aquarius @ Musa 2/10/2010 4:15:21 PM
Musa, so is it ok then that SA goes the way of Zimbabwe? With all their sanctions? You say that we had sanctions because of apartheid, but Mugabe has his own apartheid, just on the other side of the same coin. So does that make it right? Is this what you want for Sount Africa too? Do you want us to be sanctioned yet again, because "your kind" could not learn from the past mistakes? What they did in the past was wrong, but what are YOU doing to improve the life of SA citizens? Nothing - so we will be doomed to repeat and follow in the footsteps of every other African country.

join COPE 11/02/2010 in parliament for a picket for JZ to step down

Truth&Recon 2/11/2010 7:36:15 AM
All the comments have merit in this blog, however my question is beyond the constant bickering seen on these conversation strings, it is simply who else can we vote for prominant economist Dr. Azar Jammine described the DA's economic plan as not realistic, The ANC has lost its way and its empty promises have cost it dearly. Where do we turn? Running SA is far more difficult than running Cape Town and I do not have faith in the DA's ability to run the country, rather I would like to see a new party of prominent business/political players who have shown integrity and a will for the greater south africa to stand up. Come on Bobby Godsell, Clem Sunter, Cyril Ramaphosa stop writing books and staying in the shadows SA needs you. Lets break shacckles of this unionised hanging rope around our necks and make sure we are part of Africa's era when it comes...

Harties 2/11/2010 8:36:24 AM
Sis man Zuma... Sis.. you are supose to be our image... i'm so ashamed to be called an south african... the whole world is laughing at us right now... Sis man ANC..

Eles 2/11/2010 9:08:28 AM
@ Truth and Recon - I disagree I would love to see what the DA could do in running the country - you can't even compare the difference of municipalities run by ANC and DA. I find HZ a strong and intelligent leader and would love to see what she could do with more scope.

Burnnaze 2/11/2010 12:00:31 PM
Did you see JZ on international Skynews this morning - I felt embarrassed

TSHABIS 2/11/2010 12:03:52 PM

what is all this recall sh&t - fire his ass and then watch the "real" ANC infighting begin. Malema is the greatest thing ever as he is going to create more division in the useless ANC than ever before. You go Mal Emmer, you keep up your little mini me bahaviour and watch your organisation crumble... I am so glad I have a brain and can see thru these useless bastards !!!

biti 2/11/2010 2:20:07 PM
Please please Madiba I implore you to stop this madness - the new ANC is determined to breakdown all the good you did - please please say something - greed self enrichment etc was never what the struggle was about

@Sefu 2/11/2010 3:18:36 PM
Now Sefu spoken like a true South African!! You are AYOBALICIOUS!!

Tony Raffa 2/11/2010 3:47:07 PM
If the ANC dont get rid of that young idiot who when he opens his mouth I want to puke we will never be one nation. My biggest concern is the whole world know he is an idiot but the ANC allow him to insult who ever he likes and they do nothing about it Now he is on FW De Klerk's case. Please for the sake of piece get him out of politics and even better send him to Zimbabwe to his brother Mugabe to live in because he is busy braking down everything Mr Mandela and Mr De Klerk built

Comrade 2/12/2010 9:29:55 AM
Well said Sefu. However, ANC still remains the mascular party in the Country. This is perpetuated by the headless oposition parties that do not understand African politics. We are slowly following the trend of greedy African political leaders in all three levels of Gorvement. I hope and pray for this Monitoring and Evaluation Ministry to play its course in getting rid of these loyalists who will do everything to make their name look good into certain individuas that are holding key Political positions.

Pagan 2/12/2010 9:30:38 AM
Sefu, I agree with you 100% and have to say the following as well:

Never before have I been more disgusted by leaders and their utterances than today. I cannot believe the utter stupidity of the leaders of this country. I cannot believe that a person like Malema is even allowed to open his mouth in public, even better, he should even be allowed to open his mouth in private. But you cannot blame its stupidity, it can hardly read (it doesn’t even know its own language), so there cannot be any reasoning either. But of course he is not the only person, Zwelinzime Vavi is another, Ramaphosa yet another and I can almost continue forever. And unfortunately I have to also mention Zuma as well.

Why don’t these idiots (sorry, I don’t know how else to describe them) read some history of the entire South Africa, why don’t these idiots go back and see what the “white man, oppressor, colonial scum” did in the referendum in 1992. They will never mention this, ever, because it does not conform to ANC racism, hatred and political agenda because it won’t further their utter disgusting manipulation of the truth. Malema won’t mention it simply because he can’t read but the other so-called leaders know exactly what has happened. They talk about freedom but the majority of the citizens of this country, black and white, has no freedom because the ANC does not, will not, allow freedom. We live in the grip of crime, we live in the grip of poisons water, and we live in grip of dying in hospital. No, we have no freedom at all, the ANC made very sure of that and they are making very sure that this remains their method of governance.

The ANC has done nothing to build this country, they have however made sure that this country is fast becoming a slum, like Zimbabwe, like Malawi, like Mozambique and a countless other African countries. Education is nothing but a joke, crime (let’s not even go there), water sanitation, roads, health services (yes, the beloved drunkard really did her job well), corruption (it has become such a joke that nobody with a thinking mind (this excludes the officials) takes any government department seriously anymore), service delivery (look at what is happening across the country) is a joke as well. Is there anything this government has done to build the country? Just one! And don’t mention the FIFA WC, which is an excuse the same as the apartheid excuse. This country is governed by excuses. Mention one uplifting, motivational speech idiot Malema made, just one.

The president of South Africa is a breeding rabbit. Tell me, who has to pay for his children? Please tell me. I have to, he breeds and the rest pays. And again, they did devise an excuse, this time they cannot blame apartheid so they invented a new one, culture. I have to wonder what will happen to this country when everything is governed by excuses.

But I have to wonder what will happen if every single white person, colonial scum, oppressor decides to withdraw for this country for a period of 5 days. I don’t think I have to wonder about this, in 5 days this country will be completely dead. But this won’t happen because it will be declared illegal but the liberation government. But I still wonder. And I have to wonder if every professional, black and white, band together and say enough is enough. We won’t pay your taxes to enrich the corrupt, we won’t pay your taxes to look after your children, we won’t pay your taxes so that idiots can speak in public, we won’t pay your taxes so that liars can shoot at civilians because they drive a car with blue lights, we won’t pay your taxes so that our roads can deteriorate and blame (and excuses) be placed at those already taxed not paying traffic fines.

Never before have I been more disgusted in the leadership of this country and their utterances than today.

Something Foul 2/12/2010 10:12:31 AM
Sefu, you think for yourself and make your own deductions - well done, whether we support the ANC or not. I was reading the following and thought it might interest some of the "thinkers", not that we all agree with the sentiments of the author, but well woth reading and chewing a bit on the thoughts of this man. Thank heavens that none of these figure heads are holding the "GOLDEN REINS" of the South African economy !

MD 2/12/2010 10:53:03 AM
Both Zuma and Mbeki are largely reponsible for the sorry state of affairs in this country. Was it not Mbeki who was planning to run for a third term (a la the rest of Africa?) The question now is, which one of the two is the worst of the two evils?

Gollum 2/12/2010 11:40:44 AM
I don't understand how Mandella does not do something, or at least air his view on all of this publicly. That way we can also know where we stand with him and if this is the realisation of his dream. Is he not the father of all of them?

To the ANC, the alliance, JM, JZ, and the like of poliodonky - ag nee, sies man!

Gollum@Comrade 2/12/2010 11:45:58 AM
"The party is the most muscular..." Yes, making it a dumb brute.

Nadsza 2/12/2010 2:28:54 PM
I miss Madiba as president. We had hope back then.

michael 2/12/2010 3:08:44 PM
@Musa - If someone gives you something rotten it doesn't mean you have to accept it!!!

deepest 2/12/2010 4:06:58 PM
"who are you to question.."
you see that's the thing..we clever people question the motives of our leaders..we question the motives of our role models.
Now when your daughter asks why mr zuma can sleep with somone who he isnt married to but our bible says its wrong..well what do we tell them?
Guess we have one thing to do ..comrades..lets join the anc..i need a new car!

Jared 2/12/2010 7:02:02 PM
@Gollum - don't be ignorant man. You should know a lot of things are kept away from Nelson Mandela because of his health. If he knew what the ANC was doing to his legacy he would have had a heart attack by now and probably would be dead. Besides he has done his job, he liberated the country and united us as one nation, it was up to the ANC to continue his work, but they were consumed by the power and ended up corrupt, now they destroying the country. Madiba was the greatest president this country has ever seen, it's just a pity he couldn't have been president earlier in his age.

SG 2/13/2010 7:40:08 AM
Sefu Sekgala. The future of this country is in the hands of african people like you. Only african people can rise and stop the ANC from plunging this country into a hell hole. Sefu you are 100% correct in your analysis. The ANC leadershio click is for sure put the systems and structures in place to loot this country. That is what they are spending their time on, not governing the country for the benefit of the people.

zaJewel 2/13/2010 9:54:19 AM
The ANC has gone from an organisation of thinkers, dreamers, people of intellect and vision to one that despises anything that remotely smacks of intelligence. There is now a culture of group-think, where a contrary view or opinion is not allowed. Everyone must be the same and think the same and there's no room for people who have any intelligence. To be a "true supporter" of the ANC you must aspire to the lowest common denominator. That is why Mr Malema is so popular. The rhetoric that he spouts (but clearly doesn't understand) is over 100 years old. Marxist-Leninist thinking that even in it's time (100 years ago) could only be implemented by brute force. It is no different today. Every communist state is still in power only through tyranny.

Tyrants succeed by keeping people poor, ill-fed and illiterate.

That is the ANC and the Alliance's plan - and they are succeeding because the people cannot let go of this "ANC no matter what" thinking. There are alternatives out there, use your democratic rights before they are taken away!

Sighzor 2/13/2010 2:01:50 PM
Sad part is people are still voting for the ANC, even if they know that the ANC is destroying a brilliant country.

I sigh at the idiots who keep on voting for a pathetic party that screw our country.
