Tragic end to 2008 for teens

Johannesburg - Two teenagers died in separate crashes in the Vaal Triangle on New Year's Eve Netcare 911 said on Friday.
Spokesperson Nick Dollman said a matric pupil died when he was thrown from a vehicle when it rolled on a gravel road in the Mooilande Agricultural Holdings, in Meyerton, south of Johannesburg at 17:00 on Wednesday.
A female passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby provincial hospital.
A second teenager, aged 16, died at 23:30 also on Wednesday when he was hit by a car while walking along Van Riebeeck Road, in Vereeniging, said Dollman.
The driver of the car had been arrested, he said.
