200 homeless after shack fire

Johannesburg - Nearly 200 people were left homeless following a shack fire in the Mandela Park informal settlement near Hout Bay in the Cape Peninsula, SABC news reported on Thursday.

The City of Cape Town's disaster management said about 50 dwellings were destroyed in the fire.

Spokesperson Craig Pillay said disaster management teams, including a helicopter, have been sent to the area.
