Spare the rod, spoil the child

Hlabangwane wa Hlabangwane, News24 User

The relationship between the ANC and its youth wing has come under some intense scrutiny mainly on how the ANCYL should relate to its mother body and vice versa.

The pronouncements by the ANCYL recently has demonstrated that either the youth wing is operating on a different podium as that of the mother body or they simply think they are an independent structure which only relates to its mother body in a clandestine and ill-defined manner.

For instance, the pronouncements by its President, Julius Malema when he demanded that the ANC's NEC members must "recall" Thabo Mbeki from the Presidency after Judge Nicholson's ruling or they (the NEC's members) will be recalled. It is common knowledge that as Julius Malema demanded and stressed on national television, Thabo Mbeki was eventually recalled.

Then there was the open displeasure on the conduct of the ANCYL President by ANC stalwarts like Dr Zola Skweyiya when he openly said Malema was an "embarrassment" to the party.

This is an open rebuke came from an elder who is immersed in the culture and organisational discipline of the ANC - having been a member for more than half a century-52 years. But it seemed that Skweyiya was one of the handful who was strong enough to "rebuke" Malema after the ANCYL viciously and publicly rebuked an elder, Kgalema Motlanthe for daring to criticise Malema by saying he was acting like a "paragon of political correctness".

Ludicrous

It now comes as surprise and absurd that the ANC issued a statement saying Julius Malema is a victim of a sustained campaign by the media to belittle him. How ludicrous! Though the media can be at times be blamed for being sensationalist but in Malema's case, it is clear to everyone that his "foot in mouth" syndrome is his number one enemy.

Take for instance, Malema's outbursts when he openly "vilified" Northern Cape Premier, Dipuo Peters alleging that she was bought by "business". Such statements show lack of tact, thoughtful and poor judgment on the side of Malema.

If there is anyone to blame for the "character" and the political immaturity of Julius Malema which is scented with empty rhetoric, it is the ANC leadership which has failed to develop him as a leader. It is not only repugnant but disappointing to hear the President of the ANC, Jacob Zuma "condone" the behavior of Julius Malema by comparing his perceived "militancy" to previous Youth League leaders like Nelson Mandela.

This comparison is misguided because it likens "rudderless", "clueless", "naked imbecility" and "utterly reckless" statements to the well crafted militancy advocated by Nelson Mandela during his early days. It shows how the leadership of the ANC can sink to low depths and insult the legacy of Nelson Mandela to protect the abhorrent and crass political statements and leadership of Julius Malema.

This is the cheapest politicking of the lowest order hence the people are questioning the quality of the leadership at the helm of the ANC today.

The apportioning of blame to the media for Malema's covering by the leadership of the ANC seems to me to be the height of hypocrisy. The ANC should look at themselves and openly admit that Malema is a creation of their own making and must take full responsibility for his crass political behaviour and it seems they are now failing to control him.

your letter contains everything thats been written in this forum bt anyway i dnt see you mentioning any thing good that ANC has done in your letter you are such a hyprocite too.

The saying goes "to many chiefs and noy enough indians" but I would like to say " To many chiefs and not enough brains" The ANC has on many occations contadicted, I personally think it is because they are all want to rule, they are power hungry and have no direction. Every week we have to hear how one or other ANC chief has been misunderstood by the media. They all love to hear their voice and constantly contradict each other, what a bounch of fools.

Stryker 11/20/2008 1:29:51 PM
With all due respect its really difficult to spare or not to spare the rod when the fathers are missing. How many kids are brought up by single woman in this country. Our South African mamas are a pillar of strength in SA, often looking after their own kids as well as their kids kids -the blame for an erant youth is clearly our South African men, useless little specimens mostly, who contribute nothiong to the family unit other than their dodgy seed.

Bob 11/20/2008 1:33:51 PM
You voted for them! Deal with it now!

Stryker 11/20/2008 1:40:53 PM
Its only a matter of time before Malema is implicated in some or other corruption deal. Ramathlodi on corruption charge - I rest my case

Kenroid 11/20/2008 1:42:50 PM
Ummm....this letter was about Julius Malema - I don't see how the author can mention anything good about the ANC and Julius in the same piece...that would just be humour or sarcasm! By the way...go look up the definition of hypocrite!

Spongebob 11/20/2008 1:43:28 PM
Enough about him and ANC, give us something fresh!

MJ 11/20/2008 1:48:01 PM
Interesting that he was voted into his position (I assume it was free and fair) by the ANCYL, so maybe that is what the youth (that section) want. The leadership would be worried to 'annoy' such a large section of their support base.

cos 11/20/2008 1:50:55 PM
We should all now at along last come to realise that Zuma not only approves of what Malema does and says but also encourages it. It is not because they are uneducated -U dont have to be educated to be clever but clearly neither of these imbeciles has the brain capacity of an amoeba! They are a disgrace and too stupid even to be embarrassed by their actions or realise how the rest of the world is laughing at them. Imagine Zuma & Malema on the world stage with other leaders - what a joke!!

Vusi 11/20/2008 1:51:02 PM
These daily Malemaphobia POSTINGS have become monotonous and quite frankly.... they are BORING. Calvin Mkhize can you please post a pragmatic article about our movement, The African National Congress...The OLDEST and tried and tested PARTY IN AFRICA.

Crackerjackjack 11/20/2008 1:51:14 PM
Just look at Julius Malema's facial expressions and his eyes. His eyes are filled with hatred and evil. That is why I am worried about the future. His own supporters sing and dance and it is the african way to follow their leader,so Malema says "kill" and they kill! He says "shoot" and they shoot. He says "I'm a big idiot" and they say..I'm a big idiot. Worrying times.

WhiPnTickle 11/20/2008 1:54:48 PM
Oops i did again it malema spears

VG 11/20/2008 1:56:18 PM
TO be honest, besides his "kill for Zuma" statement, Malema's utterances haven't bothered me.Black people in particular make a big deal of "showing respect" for elders. But when TBoz shoved Winnie on stage, the same people complaining now were quick to speak up in his defense. Malema's entitled to voice his opinion, no one's saying you ahve to like it.

Poonder Squeeza 11/20/2008 1:57:47 PM
i cannot even fathom how well you have written this article, well done and keep it up. Good reading. Your choice of words, brilliant. Now go and bury your head in the sand and wait for christmas or crawl back into your cave and hibernate. Like that idiot Sello who stays in a posh suburb and is proud about it that he talks about him and his squeza sitting around the woodfire in his rural village. I wonder if he makes a mockery of his own nation or he just is like Malema.

VG 11/20/2008 1:58:47 PM
And let's be honets here, some of what the man says is true. How can Shilowa lambast Zuma's moral standing when he had to be dragged to court to pay maintenance for his kid? that's shocking. And yes, he was a security guard for most of his life until the ANC gave the opportunity to better himself. Why shold Malema not say out loud what everyone is gossiping about behind closed doors?

Karen 11/20/2008 1:59:02 PM
I hope you are starting to see the light and will review your decision to vote for them in the next election. We are not stuck with this idiocy forever, we have a choice and the chance to exercise that choice is now, otherwise we won't have it much longer. @kamawa - an article about anything good about the ANC would be a very short letter and more history than current. Try to write one about what the ANC is doing now that is good - don't go into the past - I dare you!!

Steve 11/20/2008 1:59:58 PM
this chump spits the garbage he does. The ANC has no discipline. They are a bunch of id10ts with a single character. They all betray every citizen of this country every day. Bunch of losers, just like malema, zuma, stofile. they cant do their jobs so they scream and shout. And if anyone says anything they are racist. pathetic. The world is laughing.

Thembi 11/20/2008 1:59:58 PM
If the young people dont vote against Malema, this nation will face a Lauren Nkunda of tomorrw

kgomotso 11/20/2008 2:01:59 PM
Malema is an idiot and the sooner ANC realise and remove him the better. His stupidity is costing ANC dearly and giving advantage to the opposition parties esp COPE. As it stands ANC is visibly under immerse pressure they can not afford to have such stupidity parading its self.

pj 11/20/2008 2:02:43 PM
aaai tog , c'mon man guys!.lets talk about some positive stuff now. This Malema boy does'nt deserve all this publicity.Lets ignore him for a while.

reedies 11/20/2008 2:02:50 PM
Very well written. If it wasn't such a serious matter it would actually be funny the way Malema is tolerated. The sad thing is that he's a supposed role model to the youth. For crying in a bucket, someone please give us a leader.

Pangea 11/20/2008 2:03:19 PM
Julius Malema is clearly out of control. He has no respect for the elders in the ANC or anybody else. It is just a pity the ANC is taking a typical dictator approach by blaming the media. This is disturbing, maybe I should check out New Zealand again?

You'll be branded a sell out, coconut and a dissedent. ANC are intolerant of everyone who does not conform to their ideoligies. So much for freedom of anything... if the ANC had their way we would all be marching down the main street with massive flags of Zuma pasted on every building. People oppossed will go missing, sound familiar?

pj 11/20/2008 2:11:23 PM
Yes Crackerjackjack , i agree Malema's eyes look's all evil man.like a snake (AKA The Anc) about to spew venom at anything that dares to crit/challenge them

BETHUEL 11/20/2008 2:12:24 PM
Why Jz compare Julius with Madiba? This young leader cannot rich Madiba calibre.even himself JZ os faraway to match Him.He must just advice Malema to try to concetrate on books before time run out.

SuperG 11/20/2008 2:14:08 PM
I would not waist my time on an Empty Tin like Malema. I don't find the Muppet fascinating and everyone should just lament his intellectual deficiencies. The poor boy needs Help ? One advise to him and His so called ANC Elders ? Embrace EDUCATION ? and Julius, pass jail and go back to Grade 0.

Cape Town Kid 11/20/2008 2:14:12 PM
If you are going to be bamboozled by propaganda and adopt a middle-class stance ie ostrich-like behaviour then so be it.But before you judge and condemn,go and listen to Malema's tapes and you will see how far from the truth yr take is.The likes of you continuously shout from the rooftops about the truth, but where is it when you apply your mind? They say the blind leads the blind, but what must be said of stupid. Also beware of those who are programming you..afta 350yrs YOU ARE FREE!

sara 11/20/2008 2:15:17 PM
I fully agree with everything you have said there. @Kamawa,I too dare you!

Mart 11/20/2008 2:15:55 PM
there is not much more to say bout him! Luckily, allot of people are starting to see that the current crop of leaders in the ruling party are not worth there vote, unfortunately there are still people that will blindly follow no matter what happens. The ANC is loosing more votes than they realise.

Thobile Ndungane 11/20/2008 2:16:58 PM
I think Zuma,Mantashe and Blade are the political fathers of Malema and what they can not say, they ask Malema to say. To those who are so brainwashed by ANC propaganda, I wonder how do you manage you homes, houses if you can not be open minded about the symplest of things:ANC HAS BECOME A SELF DESTROYING ANIMAL;THE REST OF AFRICA IS LAUGHING!

REUBEN 11/20/2008 2:17:22 PM
MY FRIEND YOU MUST BE AWARE THAT I KNOW YOU AS A SERIOUS MBEKI SUPPORTER.YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING INCLUDING USING THIS PLATFORM TO CRITISIZE THE ANC AND ITS YOUTH ALLIANCE.PLEASE GO ON CAMPAIGHNING FOR YOU UNCLE AND HIS DISCUPLES,BUT YOU MUST KNOW THAT FORWARD WE GO AND BACKWARD NEVER.WE ARE GOING TO AND WE WILL ALWAYS VOTE FOR ANC.YOU RATHER BE AN ORGANIZER FOR COPE THAN BE A COLUMIST BECAUSE WE ALREADY KNOW YOUR AGENDA.

tm 11/20/2008 2:18:32 PM
Another way for the ANC to just pass the buck.... they do not know or understand the meaning of the words respect and responsibility...

Shabir ... the shake master 11/20/2008 2:18:41 PM
The less said about the ANC and Malema the better. He is the reason I stopped supporting the ANC ... I am in the market for a new party. COPE or ID or DA.

Rogi 11/20/2008 2:19:05 PM
You must be crazy if you think eJulius is acting independently - Zuma is instructing him to spit around and then he goes around acting like he'll sort it out...Bad Cop, Good Cop, but I just wonder if he can be stopped now...

Thokozani 11/20/2008 2:19:13 PM
finally put the Malema issue into rest, a lot has been said about the guy, from publicly displaying his qualification to calling him different names. Yes some of the things he has said are uncalled for, but who is perfect "you" i don't think so my friend. The thing is even if the guy is quiet writers will always poke him in the eye, then what do you expect.

Kal-El 11/20/2008 2:24:12 PM
The Malema-phenomenon did not happen by coincidence. It was carefully and skillfully planned. This was to ensure that there exists a looming threat of violence should Zuma not become president. Quite clever actually. So publicly the ANC subtly disagrees with Malema and his wild statements, but underneath it all, he has been instructed to behave this way. This makes sense because, look, you do not have to be a rocket scientist to realize that if the ANC really wanted him to stop, he would. There is power in ANC beyond his (Malema) or any of our comprehension. However, this ANC plan can backfire still. The ANC is loosing votes due to Malema. Particularly the previously ANC-loyal black middleclass who as we know have grown into immense proportions.

Andrew 11/20/2008 2:25:02 PM
Julius should do us all a favour and keep quiet...or at least immigrate. Lets make him Barak Obama's problem.

mandla 11/20/2008 2:25:25 PM
Isn?t the media responsible for giving Malema too much airtime?? More than the country?s president Kgalema Mothlante or Helen Zille?? You would swear Malema was president of SA, judging by the media coverage he is getting.. He is only a youth league leader for piss sake.. You even dedicate 500+ words writing about him.. is he that important to you??

jim 11/20/2008 2:25:52 PM
At Least Shilowa had a job and worked to earn his keep. Zuma hasn't worked a day in his life and has no education. What does he know about economics and policy, NOTHING, he just says what people want to hear.

Gerald 11/20/2008 2:26:58 PM
It is clear that, because the poison that this idiot spits all the time is meant to be in support of Zuma, but achieves the opposite, even those in the ANC who happen to notice the negative effect that this may have are afraid to talk because it would be seen as being against Zuma ,now the'd rather chew upon it and die a slow death , thanks to their allegiance to Zuma, Malema's father, who condones his actions. Let them kill themselves , they deserve it.

LRob 11/20/2008 2:27:07 PM
Maybe Zuma should forceably remove him from his "parents" and then forceably educate him all while praying over him hoping he will see the light, becoming a useful member of society!

Lucky Ralawe 11/20/2008 2:29:19 PM
Just like the Kangaman who rumbles incoherently, contradicts the ruling party's policies, and utters unconstitutional remarks ("pregnant pupils must be forced to go and study in villages until they can obtain degrees" - which is kidnapping and violates freedom of movement - Malema's speaks faster than he can think. The likes of "Proudly Black SA" will argue that they vote for the ANC, being oblivous to the fact that it is the Malema's and Kangaman of this world who make up the ANC.

Greg 11/20/2008 2:29:47 PM
In 50 years time when one looks back and sees how the once great ANC was divided we will come accross 2 names, Malema and Zuma. Its a pity that the NEC doesnt have the bollocks to knock him down. How are they ever going to stand up to Mugabe??? ANC and Zim seem doomed!!!

IandI 11/20/2008 2:30:03 PM
Julius is just a young, disrespectful airbag, taking his cue from his predecessors, Mbalula and Peter Mokaba. The people of South Africa are grateful for the role the ANC played in liberating us frm oppression, but just like they re-called Thabo Mbeki from his deployment, we voters can also exercise out right and recall the ANC from power, and thewy must accept that when it happens and not behave like Mugabe's Zanu-PF.

Comical Ali 11/20/2008 2:31:25 PM
There is no difference between what comes out Lekota and Malema's mouths.

Tony 11/20/2008 2:34:35 PM
Yes, I fully agree and that is exactly what is wrong with this de-linguant. Stops spraying dung all over every decent human being on the planet.Send the fool a back to school but first he should actually go back to his parents to learn some manners. Anele Mda should also call him for a public debate and smack his naughty bottom while doing so. Maybe, the A.N.C. are actually told by him what goes and what doesn't. In that case, the A.N.C. should be excused and resign as government.

makondo 11/20/2008 2:34:54 PM
everyday there is a controvertial subject on the table bcs of the anc...today it is frolick and khompela and their idiotic statements. "Another National Crisis" aka anc is fast becoming the biggest joke in african history surpassing zimbabwe and mugabe. As a Once anc member not any more thank god i was so bloody embarrassed by having the likes of zuma and malema in my party...good riddence to that spaza shop party the anc and its spaza shop engineers like zuma and co

GM 11/20/2008 2:35:31 PM
Take the examples of Jacob Zu likening the ANC to Jesus authority and he further adds an insult to the CHRISTIAN community by saying COPE is like a Jesus donkey. This is pure madness from ANC leadership.Knowing that, Jesus is GOD Himself, i think Mr Zuma should be carefull enough because God doesnt dress up in a kanga.

Siyanda 11/20/2008 2:37:51 PM
I concur with you.

Blinkers 11/20/2008 2:37:53 PM
Let Malema be - he sets a good example of WHAT NOT TO SAY...what concerns me is that he seems to have the ear (or mouth) of someone in the ANC who really knows what the party's new step is going to be...in spite of all the calming noises from the official routes....

African 11/20/2008 2:38:26 PM
Good point in focusing some attention on the ANC, oldest and greatest political party in Africa. So lets focus: Non delivery of services, corruption, disrespect of elders, hate speach against different races and any democratic oposition, threats of murder and mayhem, vilifying any sports body that performs, what did I miss, oh yes, idealising dictators like Robert Mugabe, breaking down of once world class education systems. I am realy sorry, but I actually cannot come up with anything good to say.

AC 11/20/2008 2:39:49 PM
Isnt it funny how the world is wrong, except the ANC, whose people are always misunderstood or the victims of press smear campaigns. Any surprises that the ANC want control of the SABC board to control press statements. Like communisim, but its the ANC, so its OK

Funnybones 11/20/2008 2:41:44 PM
VG what is wrong with being a security guard. Shilowa demonstrated that you can start from the humble begings and go on to beome somebody in life. This should serve as an inspiration for all the people doing what is considered trivial jobs.

p123 11/20/2008 2:44:34 PM
It's like the good cop, bad cop syndrome. The ANC leadership enjoy having a lunatic shouting his mouth off, it keeps the 'minorities' in their place so to speak, and if it leads to them emigrating, well that is just a bonus. Malema would make a great Zanu-PF cadre! Unfortunately the masses in the townships aren't aware just how stupid Malema is, and will still vote for the ANC. Very sad! Ubuntu is just too strong I am afraid...

Martin 11/20/2008 2:46:09 PM
JZ could never keep him in track, cause JZ is at best only a dancing queen!

Michael Cousins 11/20/2008 2:47:36 PM
Now, I may be wrong, but I'm starting to get the impression that the ANC head honchos are failing to control their supporters. Malema's comments about willing to die/kill for Zuma, and ANC supporters disrupting COPE meetings doesn't give me much confidence in the ANC's authority over its members. On the SLIM chance that Zuma does not become president next, I have no doubt that Zuma would graciously accept defeat, but would his followers be so accepting?

Raymond Hocknell 11/20/2008 2:48:03 PM
Surely, kind people, there must be something else to talk about other than this half-wit who only shuts up long enough to change feet? Just ignore him like the petulant adolescent he is. The more airtime he receives on forums such as this one and the media, the more he will remain in the public eye. And hence the converse is true too.

James 11/20/2008 2:48:28 PM
It buffles me that as the so called middle class we have joined the bandwagon of the ANC bashers even without raising any new issues. Millions of the poor and empoverished are on daily basis dealing with harsh rality of life yet prominence is given to just one individual JM. People should be debating the real issues that confronts the majority i.e. joblessness, poverty, HIV Aids, health, state of education. Do we feel that we are better off so there is no point of raising genuine issues.

Point Blank 11/20/2008 2:50:14 PM
Please write an article of what the ANC have done over the last two years. You'll be very suprised at just how the ANC have crumbled, have turned into a militant say anything you want then say you were taken out of context. The intimidation of political parties, the intolerance within the ANC of anyone oppossing policies, the arrogance of Malema who is merely the mouthpiece of Zuma when he knows he can't say certain things. Please man, too much power my friend the ANC have too much power.

Duma 11/20/2008 2:50:25 PM
What messege is malema sending to the south african communities. Security officers are people too, and if elected to a leadership position due to their capacity, they must take it and serve the country so what. The wayt malema put it, it is like if you are a security officer you can't think and you can't be a leader while an acsess course failure and woodwork failure thinks he can lead the South African Youth. Malema is an embarrassment to the ANC and the country at large.

2s 11/20/2008 2:50:55 PM
I know the Malema-phobia is a bit overdone by now, hence some of the comments, but this is very well articulated. The point is that when you have someone so "out-spoken", for lack of a better word, as Malema, one needs to wonder at the state of leadership within the ruling party. They are insulting their legacy more & more. Of course, some will still blindly follow, but I believe most are starting to open thier eyes...

Rob 11/20/2008 2:53:32 PM
Whats wrong with Malema? He is one of mandela's little angels, one of Mbeki's black diamonds.IMO he is acting just like any other black kid in south africa, a sense of entitlment and a chip on his shoulder. This country is doomed....

Dee 11/20/2008 2:54:29 PM
Shame he is busy riding the gravy train while the is still some gravy on it. No sober company will even think of shortlisting him for an interview. Let alone ...... the guy is lacking upstairs that is why the noise. Go to school Malema. you belong behind the desk to improve your credentials and learn life. I think a Grade R English Class will sort you out!!

Thami 11/20/2008 2:55:45 PM
no moola for you come this Friday. You are re-telling us what the media is saying already. I am surprised that you can spend the entire afternoon writing this. No wonder COPE people viz. Karen, Kolobe,Thobile et al are quite bored. Find something else or go home to your whatever!

G-Man 11/20/2008 2:56:49 PM
How ludicrous can Zuma be? To even try to find similarity between Malema and Mandela. Trying to compare the two, is like comparing cheese and chalk. The Malema's intelligence is questionable, when Mandela was speaking on podiums in the 50's he was already degreed. Malema still has to fully pass his matric. Please do not insult our intelligence Zuma!

Seema 11/20/2008 2:56:49 PM
We need to talk about this issues. when are going to stop sweeping stuff under the rag? you dont become a leader of a youth wing of the leading strongest party by chance . You got to have some leadership quality to ascend the throne , having said so when we need to be critical and vocal about your shortcomings it shouldnt be seen as propaganda. I detest lack of responsiliblity his behaviour is alarming .I think he can play a vital role but he not taking positive advantage of his role... Seemd

Mike F 11/20/2008 2:56:54 PM
and proved how short sighted they are, how they are lacking true leadership. The treatment of President Thabo Mbeki was scandalous, and very short sighted. And so painful that it is hurting the very movement that chose to embarrass him. Clearly the politics of revenge took precedence over the interests of the Movement and the Country

Dave 11/20/2008 2:59:36 PM
I agree 100% with spongebob, give us something fresh, new, exciting. This talk of the ANC and Julius is so old and stale.

Hayi, hayi news24; enough Malemaphobia now!!Yes, he said all the "horrible" things the author mentioned and has been criticised, ridiculed, villified. Yes,some of his utterances were not appropriate in public even though we know a lot of people say these things in private. There!! can we move on now? What do you want Malema to do now? Stand on the mountain and admit his "sins" & "repent".I say it again; what is your Agenda news24 for regurgitaing these letters? I dare you to publish my comment.

SimonP 11/20/2008 3:06:10 PM
is something the ANC will never take, just like accountability. Firstly they blame people in general for "misunderstanding" Malema, then they blame the press....who next? Why not blame Malema, hes the one that said it? The poor little bully is being picked on. Pathetic!!

Thabo Z 11/20/2008 3:06:27 PM
Can we please leave Julius alone as he is a struggle hero of the new generation. Instead we should totally support his well thought out ideas and follow it to the end.He has the talent to become the next rightful leader of SA after JZ is out of office. He will make changes to this country that will amaze the entire planet. Give him a chance.

VM 11/20/2008 3:06:57 PM
Unfortunately....that's exactly what the ANC is all about, and worse.....till Jesus comes!!

Jojo 11/20/2008 3:08:33 PM
It's sad how people seek to denounce the ANC, you always try to detach the ANC leadership from it's people, you should know by now that if the ANC people have a problem with their leader, they do not vote for another party, they recall the leader and continue voting for the party.

Ekke 11/20/2008 3:10:52 PM
I can honestly say that i did NOT vote for them, so it is my democratic right to speak my mind about them. Someone in leadership positions without proper schooling... HOW can JM afford the house he lives in in Sandton and the cars he drives? I mean come on. He did not even pass matric properly, and he does not have a job other then being the ancyl president? I am SURE that he is also hiding something about where he is getting his money from.

Ingrid 11/20/2008 3:12:01 PM
The ANC will never, never get my vote. They can keep their precious Julius Malema (wet behind the ears, idiot). He has an evil look, and probably is.

Malema fan 11/20/2008 3:12:09 PM
Yet again. Malema and Zuma are both idiots. Both of them constantly try to undermine the other parties. They forget the fact that we as the public count and what they can do for us to make things better.

GailC 11/20/2008 3:12:41 PM
Doesn't mean you should.I was told this by a card carrying member of the ANC who has considerable influence where I come from except that he said it of the DA and other opposition parties. I was in a Bible study at the time and we were studying Jonah. Zuma is the ANC Jonah as are his followers.

Seema 11/20/2008 3:14:21 PM
Vusi- we got to talk about this issues no matter how monotonous they sound , they are extremely critical .I certainly think u don't ascend the throne of the ANCYL by chance ,it requires some sort of qualities and attributes having said so we need to be vocal and critical of Malemas shortcomings . We are facing huge challenges in terms of youth moral decay , i can certainly use a role model in his position just to inspire and give me hope .... Is really to much to ask Vusi ?

Mike F 11/20/2008 3:14:27 PM
and proved how short sighted they are, how they are lacking true leadership. The treatment of President Thabo Mbeki was scandalous, and very short sighted. And so painful that it is hurting the very movement that chose to embarrass him. Clearly the politics of revenge took precedence over the interests of the Movement and the Country

.... gets shot at right back. Maybe Malema needs to grow up and think before he speaks.....

bored 11/20/2008 3:18:49 PM
who cares. im so sick of this crap.ANC this Malema that. we dont care about your stupid ANC.

Mark T 11/20/2008 3:20:12 PM
I would like to know at what age does somebody stop being a 'youth'? Surely anybody above 26 should be seen as an adult and act like one, without being able to use the 'youth' excuse?

Cape Town Kid 11/20/2008 3:20:16 PM
Is a 350yr old practise which has seen many shapes and many forms. In fact, they were so so convincing sometimes...you would have to pinch yrself listening to them.So yes, this practise is sticks likes the masser's jacket.Luckily for us oda ni..gers,we at least manage to fool these ones too..heh heh heh

Mandla 11/20/2008 3:21:37 PM
Malema tells it like it is. No romours. A liar is a liar even if he is the elder, this is politics. if you guys were not scared and worried about ANC winning 2/3 majority, you will not be insulting the ANC with your letters everyday. Anyway its your democratic right to insult the ANC. Viva ANC!!!

Tlou Tlhako 11/20/2008 3:23:24 PM
I'm belittled by what today we call freedom of press and otherwise. You know it's so shocking that today's media can sometimes take sides when reporting. I'm a comminucation specialist and truly i'm taken aback by this kind of behaviour by our own journalists who were suposed to be fair when reporting but instead they opted to do the opposite.I'm not an ANC nor a Shikota member, but now for mere fact that we get news that are always one sided is boring. Enough about Shikota and ANC.

Lisa 11/20/2008 3:24:29 PM
I hope that everyone registered to vote and will be voting so that we dont have someone like zuma or the youth league president to contend with.....

Glock 22c 11/20/2008 3:24:31 PM
He just proves that with the crap he lashes out in public. This boy must watch he's steps , personally I will not take it lightly if he threatens me or my family , I will kill for my family no problem !!!!

keaobaka 11/20/2008 3:26:02 PM
you are right about malema, and whatis wrong to be a security guard?

Jikajoe 11/20/2008 3:28:45 PM
Hlabangwane has put up an argument based on facts and sound reason. The least you can do is to fight his argument based on facts. Are you academically or intellectually challenged like your gero Malema? With people like you arguing like you, i fear for our country seemingly you can't tell trees from woods. Hlabangwane this is a great article, well written

Tlou Tlhako 11/20/2008 3:29:28 PM
Terror Lekota is making a hel of noise just like a young boy who is on adolescent stage seeking attention and he need someone to call him to order. Terror you went out insulting people as if you were above every one's intelligence and now you say you want VIP Protection. For what if i may ask? Go out there and make as much noise as you can, because if you were a matured polititian you were going to make your points clear in a correct way. Enough about you, Just go.

KC 11/20/2008 3:29:59 PM
I agree with you. I also dare the ANC supporter to write a article abut the ANC?s good deeds. Good deeds that they have done recently.

KC 11/20/2008 3:30:19 PM
I agree with you. I also dare the ANC supporter to write a article regarding the ANC?s good deeds. Good deeds that they have done recently.

Toxin 11/20/2008 3:31:04 PM
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"...Malema must have forgotten that saying. How They ('ZUMAchineSwhow") discredited the President in the Media's spectacle, and eventually convinced the Nation of his removal. The media cashes in on sensation and hot storytelling, and no less better when the sensation is a politician like Malema. So stupid, the Media has given him a rope to hang himself. He is busy tying it up nicely. (To Karen) we voted ANC of Mbeki not Malema. Lest we be 4gi

Nosipho 11/20/2008 3:35:45 PM
JT has been preaching about fearing GOD and spoke about how Jesus whipped the donkey that he rode into Jerusalem. Perhaps ANCYL is the one that must learn to fear GOD and the ANC leadership. Perhaps AND leaders should be the ones whipping ANCYL.

Julius a future leader...NOT!!! 11/20/2008 3:35:56 PM
Julius Malema is steering our youth into a path of violence and distruction. He is arrogant and disrespectful to what the ANC represents. It's a shame though that the ANC is so accepting of this disgusting behaviour. The struggle against apartheid has been fought and won, so why can't our theseleaders reflect a future of peace and harmony to the people...that's what Nelson Mandela represented for the ANC and this country.

ants 11/20/2008 3:37:24 PM
The likes of Zuma and Malema are an opposition dream. In a proper democracy they would be eaten for breakfast.

Kal-El 11/20/2008 3:37:53 PM
The only responses pro-ANC/Malema/Zuma supporters can come up with, is that this topic is old. There is no fundamental arguments or facts they can counter the statements made in the letter because it is all true. A pathetic typical last resort option when you have lost an argument. And nobody can argue against the truth.

Makaukau 11/20/2008 3:41:10 PM
Why can?t you guys write articles about what?s good in the ANC today. No one dispute that the ANC was great, but it is for that reason that ppl decry the rotten state the organization is in today. It in syncophants who cannot see or naked imbeciles who are burying their heads in the sands.Rightly, u can?t compare Malema and Mandela, it is implausible for obvious reasons-or maybe you need me to spell it out 4u. This is a thorough analysis of hypocrisy by the ANC! Well done Hlabangwane

Rick 11/20/2008 3:43:36 PM
I actually enjoy Malema.......... politics are getting funnier daily and the ANC is the joke!!

Trader 11/20/2008 3:44:36 PM
You are only as good as your last deed, and its the last deed you will be remembered by!! 'One settler one bullet' 'OB OB'-one bullet one black

wb 11/20/2008 3:44:40 PM
who voted and will vote for the ANC. Maybe they can answer the question for everybody. It is true that they say I country gets the government they desrve as they majority wants them there, if we end up with a shit government the majority must not cry becuase they want them there! Nuff said!

Les-Maada 11/20/2008 3:47:06 PM
I don't care about Malema's rhetoric, cuz that's what it is!All i care about is finding something better & refreshing to read & not this News24 Juliuse Malema Hit to mild single sang by different artists but with different tunes hoping to score the most audience! The Author seems to push the blame towards the ANC which in so many times have openely criticized the boys tone, some efforts which the media fails to advertise more than Malema's Cr@P!Boring & one sided indeed!

Rovi 11/20/2008 3:47:57 PM
If I recall - Melema warned Judge Nichols before his judgement the youth would not stand for anti-revolutionary judges, asking why he had to abide by the judgements made by judges who were 'drunks'. He says people who disagree with the ANC are filled with "hate". In our society where people are under huge stress from crime, joblessness etc raising intolerance levels creates flashpoints and violence - recemnt xenaphobia attacks included. He is a loose canon and is reckless with our lives

Uncle UBA 11/20/2008 3:49:19 PM
Beware, we saw in Zimbabwe how Mugabe become the monster he is now and some of the signs are similar to Malema/Zuma company behaviours.SA pple should be fast to 'curb these excesses' of you are simply waiting for another Mugabe to surface. The way Malema talks, imposes self, pronounces ideology, political orientation and discourse is ''very close'' to the Mugabe ''started'' and still continue to look like - just wait and see or see, hear, speak no evil !

Oracle 11/20/2008 3:49:41 PM
Buddy you need a serious attitude adjustment. Shilowa may have been dragged to court to pay maintenance but Zuma does not even know how many children he has!! He clearly does not care and certainly does not support them. He prefers to sleep with HIV positve daughters of friends and does all he can to avoid the courts though there are a great many cases for him to answer. At least Shilowa faces the law and does not run like a coward. Zuma: paragon of virtue and righteousness, clearly. Get a life !

ttt 11/20/2008 3:51:15 PM
who is better between Malema and Lekota? Answer-non.

Just-saying 11/20/2008 3:52:25 PM
Why do we all get so worked up about politics. I am sure that all these politicians do not take any of us as seriously as we do them? The fact of the matter is as follows: Malema is the new Peter Mokaba(spelling?), this type of retoric brings a certain type of voter to the ruling party. Not that different from Terror, Winnie or the infamous Young Communist League. Its all in the numbers, and he produces it. Long live democracy- I hope!!!

Fifi 11/20/2008 3:53:09 PM
I am more than convinced that Cope is paying Malema to do all this things. A man who fathered a what he calls a beautiful child cannot go on saying i am still young and deserve to utter responsible talks. A man who can drink many bottles of expesive whiskies at upmarket pubs cannot continue to say I a still yoiung and can be iresponsible. A man with so much money and mansions (can sign deeds of sale)around the country cannot demand such a right. Unless your father is Zuma of course.

blah 11/20/2008 3:58:14 PM
And spoil the ANCYL.

Sinudeity@Gmail.com 11/20/2008 4:00:54 PM
The Security guard union is not happy with him :)

Uncle UBA 11/20/2008 4:02:12 PM
Look where it is all going - suddenly is Zuma all over TV,Newspapers etc - and when i see him on TV in Limpopo- the man ''LOVES ATTENTION''- and the same is Mugabe and was Heir Hitler and Bennito Mussolini ''Il Duece'' - Watch out, SA will be tomorrow's Zimbabawe ?

Kenroid 11/20/2008 4:06:31 PM
Considering Jacob Zuma has likened the ANC to Jesus in one of his metaphors......I would say that Julius Malema will be his Judas!

Karen 11/20/2008 4:13:09 PM
Give Malema a chance, he will follow JZ to the presidency. Yes, I believe that is exactly what is going on and why Malema will kill for Zuma. If Zuma doesn't become president he won't be able to give the presidency to Malema - will he? Nobody in this world wants to see what changes Malema will bring to this country. We want to move forward not backwards. The only thing the entire planet would be amazed at is the ability of 2 men to destroy a fantastic country even quicker than Mugabe could do it.

Peace 11/20/2008 4:15:27 PM
Strange how low the so called "educated" and middle class people in this site are prepared to go. Some of you are even putting aside your humanity, resorting to denigrating words in putting down Malema. In the process you have become worse than him. Human beings can be strange sometimes.Good people, please go and look at yourselves in the mirror. We are all human, if you even understand what that means.

Sonja 11/20/2008 4:16:09 PM
Being the President of the Youth League, he might even one day become the president of South Africa. How about that?
