Vatican against domain name

Vienna - The Vatican has spoken out against creating religious internet top-level domain categories such as .catholic, .islam or .buddhist, the Austrian news agency Kathpress reported on Sunday.
Carlo Maria Polvani, the Vatican representative to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann), which oversees internet names, said the non-profit organisation could put its "wise policy of neutrality" at threat if it has to choose which religious group could use the domains, the news agency reported.
Icann is planning to extend the number of domain categories.
