West Virginia - Ice Mist bottled water from Morarp, Sweden and tap water from Desert Hot Springs, California, were ruled the best in the world by judges who sipped samples from around the globe.
Bosec of Harghita County, Romania, meanwhile, won top prize for carbonated bottle water at the 14th annual Berkeley Springs International Water Taste. Pure StoneClear Springs of Vanleer, Tennessee, won for purified drinking water.
Five countries, 25 states and the District of Columbia were represented in the contest.
Each sample is weighed on six points: appearance, odour, flavour, mouth feel, aftertaste and overall impression. All the water is sipped at room temperature.
