Rome - Italian scientist Cesare Galli has succeeded in cloning 14 piglets following earlier successes with a bull and a horse, the Ansa news agency said on Friday.
Galli said the pigs, which were born several weeks ago, would help in understanding animal to human organ transplants.
The experiment was carried out as part of a European Union programme that seeks to establish the quality and characteristics of cells and molecules in cloned animals.
