During apartheids-years all European countries and America gave thousands of blacks a home, they studied and stayed overseas for years till apartheid was gone, but if one white guy asks for refugee status because of attacks on white people in SA, a big issue is made of it. The man is right. White South Africans ARE being systematically targetted by black, violent, criminals. Fact. See the on-going farm attacks across the country. The govt's reaction - to introduce new firearm legislation - effectively disarming the farmers. Ditto for viloent crime in the suburbs in the urban areas. From murders, rapes, armed house-breaking, to hi-jackings and other violence - whites are the victims - and guess who the perpetrators are? Blacks. We all know this. Just read your daily newspapers to read about what they've done next... However - the newspapers are not allowed to, by law, disclose the race of the criminals (would be stating the obvious anyway). To the workplace - from BEE to BEE 'Scorecards' to AA to quotas at universities etc etc etc - all victimising whites (almost always far better qualified and more intelligent than the black person in the job/position)...! I could go on forever here... So - yes - the ANC hates the fact that another country is recognising the facts above - they want the whole world to think only whites can be 'racist' - and that everything they do is fine. That SA is a land of "equal opportunity" - hahahahaha! So - yes - well done Brandon on highlighting the truth in SA and bringing it to the civilised world's attention! He deserves his refugee status - as does any other white South African seeking as such.

It is a disgrace to the Judicial system and the rights afforded to any citizen or person. Even refugees today have rights. The UN treaty for the plight of a refugee has been violated by the South African Government who incidentally deviced the greatest Constitution in the world. This man is in fact ironically coloured (sorry to catagorise). Hes white and black together. Just because our Government doesnt want to projected as having failed to protect the rights of ordinary citizens and the rights of this person Mr Huntly they have no authority over the Canadian Government and should keep their noses out of the decision reached already. Huntley should have seen this coming, he was economic with the truth. At least he should have owned up that there were better prospects in Canada for him than SA. To go on a racist card on claims of being persecuted by African South Africans was inviting trouble. Yes, it would have been enough if he claimed that he is running away from high crime rates as a 7-time victim and end it there. On closer assessment he is no different from economic refugees from Zimbabwe and Mozambique who throng SA. The Canadian government should be given thumbs up.

If anything, Huntley and his legal team have done everyone in South Africa a massive favour by showing the world what criminal conditions we have to live under and the absolute incompetence of our brainless government and police service (apologies, service is not the correct word). Perhaps this will help to get some action taken on the crime. In my short lifetime, I have personally experienced over 16 car break-ins, a hijacking, housebreakings, etc, etc and NOT EVER was anyone ever arrested. Go Huntley! You are the kind of PR man this country desperately needs! Is there a fund i can contribute too? I'll give you what I have, as the taxman and the criminal scum is going to take it anyway!

I find it fascinating the victim mentality of our white brothers and sisters. When this country was in flames and us blacks had no say in anything, were bascically sencond class citizens in our own country, without rights, very few of you stood up to the government of the day. Oh i forget... you didnt know what was happening to us in the townships. Why are only black people allowed to play the "racist card" and not whites too? SA is becoming like Athol Fugard's Animal Farm. Seems its a matter of everyone is "equal", but some are "more equal" than others. Like our "friend" Julius - he can say & do what he wants and it is called "freedom of speech", let a guy like Huntley say what he wants and he's a racist?! Why don't we just let the sun shine on everyone, and mind our own business. By doing this, there would be less crime, racism and problems in this country. Others call Huntly disloyal, I reckon he's an opportunist! He saw the gap, took it, and was successful. I think that deserves some credit. Good for you!! I have no desire to leave our country, but people must be very careful to judge. Ever heard the saying : "Never say never"...?
