Sasco wants Zuma to apologise

Johannesburg - The SA Students' Congress (Sasco) said at the weekend that former deputy president Jacob Zuma should apologise to the nation for his utterances on Aids during his rape trial, according to reports.
Secretary-general Tembile Yako told SABC television news: "He is compelled to apologise to the nation for not having been faithful and not having used a condom (during sex with someone who was HIV-positive)."
The student body also called on the ruling party to clarify its position with regard to what was said in the High Court trial regarding its perspective on Aids.
'Is misleading millions'
Sasco called on the African National Congress also to say what its perspective was on kangas, the attire the alleged rape victim wore that the court heard amounted to being a signal that she wanted sex.
Yako was quoted in the Sunday Times as saying: "For people of their stature to harbour, espouse and actually propagate such dangerous actions, like (saying) that taking a shower after an exposure to HIV-Aids helped against infection, is actually misleading to millions of South Africans who look up to them."
