Johannesburg - All political parties contesting the April 14 election have been allocated a free to air Political Advertisement and Party Election Broadcast (PEB) on SABC's radio stations.
Political parties contesting the national and selected provincial elections would have their PEB's broadcast on the four national and regional stations which broadcast in the relevant provinces, the Independent Communications Authority of SA said on Thursday.
Parties only contesting selected provincial elections would have their PEB's broadcast on radio stations broadcasting in those provinces.
Icasa acting chairperson Mamodupi Moshala explained that the PEB was a message which political parties should produce for broadcast to sell their election campaign to the voters.
The parties would be given 132 PEB slots starting from March 9 to April 10, and it would have to be a two minute recorded message.
Each radio station would have four PEB slots per day, starting at 06:00 until 18:00 with breaks in between.
