Pietermaritzburg - A 40-year-old man driving a new silver Lamborghini Diablo was caught speeding at 207km an hour on the N3 northbound near Camperdown on Saturday night, the KwaZulu Natal traffic department spokesperson said on Sunday.
Spokesman Rajen Chinaboo said Robert Taylor, an accountant from Hilton, who was travelling from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, was in a 120km/h zone when caught.
"He told authorities he could not feel speed in the vehicle."
He was arrested and released on R1 000 bail.
Chinaboo said the man is expected to appear in the Camperdown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
In a separate incident, another man was caught speeding at 183km/h near Camperdown on Saturday morning.
Lourens Oberholzer, 40, was driving his white BMW M5.
He will appear in the Camperdown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Chinaboo said police stopped and searched 3 634 vehicles during roadblocks set up on the M4 north of Durban Hypermarket by the Sea on Friday night.
The roadblocks were conducted by the Durban police, metro police and road traffic Inspectorate.
"Police issued 183 warrants of arrests and 364 fines for various traffic offences and other offences. Police also recovered eight stolen vehicles which had their chassis numbers removed or tampered with." He said eight imported vehicles were confiscated as drivers did not have the correct documentation.
