Johannesburg - Strong winds and heavy rain caused havoc in areas of North West on Thursday.
"Officials of the province's Department of Housing and Disaster Management are currently meeting to assess the situation," spokesperson Lesida Kgwele said.
Houses had been damaged in Lomanyaneng, Atanelang, Mafikeng Ext 39 and Election Park, he said.
Driehoek, Makouspan, Tlhabologo and Lokaleng had also been affected.
The province had already supplied blankets and salvage roof sheets to residents of those areas hit by the bad weather, Kgwele said.
