Cape Town - Cape Town police are still searching for an eight-year-old girl who disappeared from her grandparents home in Ottery on Sunday.
The child, Sasha-Leigh, is on medication for chronic asthma.
Superintendent William Pienaar of Grassy Park police station on Thursday said a witness allegedly saw someone bundling the child into a car before racing away.
Members of the police and metro police, cadettes of the Chrysalis Academy and volunteers were searching the woods near Zeekoevlei. A special unit also searched drainage pipes.
The girl's mother, Michelle Cook, said she was still hopeful. "It is difficult, but I won't give up."
She has two other children, Jason, 10, and Tatum, nine months. - Die Burger/Sapa
