8 die in Western Cape smash

Cape Town - Eight people were killed and 14 injured when a minibus taxi and a car collided on the N1 between Du Toit's Kloof Pass and Worcester on Sunday night, said Western Cape police on Tuesday.
Captain Johnny May said the accident happened 8km outside Rawsonville about 19:00.
He said seven of the victims died at the crash.
The occupants of an Opel Monza - three children, two men and two women - were all killed, while one passenger in the minibus taxi died.
The injured were being treated at the Eben Donges Hospital in Worcester.
The names of the dead would be released once their families had been notified.
Police have opened a culpable homicide docket.
