Cape Town - The young surfer, John-Paul (JP) Andrew, 16, who lost his right leg in a shark attack a month ago, will watch sharks being fed on Sunday.
This will be his first excursion after being discharged from the Constantiaberg MediClinic on Sunday. The Reddam House pupil is recovering at home. He spent about three weeks in the intensive care unit before he was transferred to a general ward.
The Two Oceans Aquarium at the Waterfront has a diving team that feeds the sharks in the tank every day.
JP's father, Robert Andrew, said Barry Stringer of Reef Wetsuits asked whether they could take JP on this excursion.
"He suggested that we go and watch when the sharks at the Two Oceans Aquarium are fed. JP said he would enjoy it. I do not think he will be upset by the trip."
Andrew said JP's sight was improving after doctors had concerns over it.
A special fund was established to assist the family with medical costs. Phone Robyn Cowie on 021 410 7800 for more information.
