Man tries to rape woman in toilet

Durban - A KwaZulu-Natal man was arrested at the weekend after he attempted to rape a woman in a public toilet, police said on Monday.
Police spokesperson Captain Jabulani Mdletshe said the incident took place on Saturday at the Baswazini Nature Reserve in Kwamsane, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
"An 18-year-old woman had gone to the public toilet and was washing her hands when a man confronted her," said Mdletshe.
He demanded that the woman go with him to a neighbouring home, but she refused.
"The man dragged her for a bit, before she slipped and fell...Then he jumped on top of her and tore off her underwear," he said.
The woman shouted for help and was heard by a family member.
"Police arrived and the man was taken into custody," he said.
