Johannesburg - The condition of Danielle Roos, the 15-year-old East Rand girl suffering from a rare bone cancer, has deteriorated.
She was admitted to the Life Health Parkland Clinic in Springs on Sunday after she became extremely nauseous and her pain was unmanageable, said her mother.
Beeld carried a report about Danielle, who suffers from Ewings Sarcoma, on Friday. She lives with her parents Sollie, 39, and Francis Roos, 37, and sister Bianca, 11, in Springs.
Doctors told the family three months ago that there was nothing more they could do for Danielle and said she only had about six months left to live. Francis said Danielle's condition had weakened so much on Sunday that they had to take her to hospital.
"She had so much pain that we couldn't even touch her. She can't eat, throws up everything and cries constantly. The medication (morphine) isn't working anymore."
Donations
Motorbike riders of the Silver Mist bike club in Boksburg and the Phantom Riders club in Elsburg handed over gifts to Danielle and Bianca at their home in Sharon Park on Saturday morning.
Danielle lay in bed, eagerly watching as Johan Lange, a member of Phantom Riders, put down a bed lamp in the shape of an angel next to her bed. "It's very pretty, thanks, Oom," she said.
The clubs raised about R2 800 in cash and handed it over to Danielle's parents.
Sollie said there had been many contributions to Danielle's trust fund. "Everyone is supporting us with their prayers. It is wonderful."
