Johannesburg - Employees at the Randfontein Post Office west of Johannesburg were locked up in an office and robbed of jewellery, cellphones and two cars, police said on Thursday.
Captain Joseph Magoai said a worker was about to park his car at 06:00 when an armed man ordered him into the post office building.
Four other armed men followed the pair into the building where they forced 10 staff members into an office and locked them up.
The men took car keys from two workers, jewellery and a number of cellphones and then drove off.
Police later stopped one of the reported stolen vehicles - a bakkie - in Mohlakeng and found one of the stolen cellphones in the possession of the driver.
The man driving the bakkie was arrested and a case of armed robbery opened.
The four other men and other car are still at large, Magoai said.
