Cape Town - A man has been arrested in connection with the hijacking of a car driven by an international modelling talent scout, who was murdered in Cape Town on Saturday night.
Fabio Lenzi, 36, was killed in a hijacking in front of his fiancée, model Diana Capri-Thomas, on Saturday night.
The car he was driving was recovered by members of the flying squad who had chased two suspects in Mitchells Plain on Sunday night.
After the Saturday night killing and hijacking, the suspects fled in Lenzi's rented red Volkswagen Playa and a white Nissan 1400 bakkie.
Inspectors Ralph Meyer and Daniel Zimri of the flying squad traced the stolen vehicle in Mitchell's Plain on Sunday night.
Captain Belita Brand of the police emergency services said they saw the car and followed it. They also seized a 9mm pistol and magazine with ammunition.
A police media statement says a 32-year-old Woodstock man is expected to appear in court soon in connection with the hijacking.
Police are searching for two more suspects.
Paola de Vito of the national model agencies association said Lenzi had been a huge asset to Cape Town's fashion industry.
She said although the attack had clearly not been directed a Lenzi personally, attacks like these alarmed models.
