Port Elizabeth - Two members of the Scorpions investigation unit appeared in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Monday, police reported.
Senior Superintendent Marinda Mills said Gordon Thabe Phalane and Mmantshimudi Lekalakala, both 29 and from Pretoria, were arrested in Blue Water Bay, Port Elizabeth, on Friday.
This was after police received complaints of intimidation and reports that shots had been fired at people.
When the police arrived, the men sped off and were chased by the police.
The two men, in separate cars, were both involved in accidents. They were then arrested.
The men are facing charges of attempted murder, negligent discharge of a firearm, discharge of firearms in a municipal area, reckless or negligent driving, failure to comply with a lawful police instruction and the use of false registration plates.
The men are to remain in custody until September 22 when they will apply for bail.
